Can anyone list the benefics and malefics for an aries lagna UNAMBIGOUSLY...? For the information of all those who wish to answer please consider that the moon is waxing, and that Mercury is in the company of 4 more planets and one node, in Leo, house 5, which is causing me a great confusion when I'm trying to interpret. 2. Which is the house system that according to you has produced the best results. 3. Is there a good book for intermediate learners that explains about all of those usual doubtful areas that a beginner or intermediate will encounter when learning Jyotish...? thank you for reading through patiently. Guest guest
Sorry, I want to know if my interpretation of BPHS rules regarding this is correct. Also there is no information regarding the status of Moon, especially with regard to Kendhradhipathi Dosha. Could you list the planets from Sun to Saturn and the nodes and say what their benefic / malefic nature will be for the given Aries lagna native, with the above planetary dispositions in his rasi chart...? ANd regarding books, please suggest some names of some books that are worthwhile reading for getting some of such doubts cleared...?
Guest guest
Hello Jaydoc, ///1. Can anyone list the benefics and malefics for an aries lagna UNAMBIGOUSLY...?/// The answer to your query is given (unambiguously) on the following page: http://jyotishvidya.com/ch34.htm ///2. Which is the house system that according to you has produced the best results./// In Vedic Astrology, the 'Rasi', known also as the Natal chart or Janma Kundali, is the primary horoscope. From this other charts can be drawn including what is known as the Bhava chart. But first and foremost is Rasi in which each sign (from 00:00-30:00) manifests as the twelve houses of the horoscope... Whole sign, whole bhava! There are other systems of astrology that use different methods (of house division) for the main horoscope, but we're not concerned with them here. Here the focus is on traditional Vedic astrology as taught by Parashara. ///3. Is there a good book for intermediate learners that explains about all of those usual doubtful areas that a beginner or intermediate will encounter when learning Jyotish...?/// I recommend James Braha's 'Ancient Hindu Astrology for the Modern Western Astrologer'. This is an excellent book for both beginner and intermediate students. You can find a list of books here: http://jyotishvidya.com/recommend.htm Best Wishes, Mrs. Wendy http://JyotishVidya.com jyotish-vidya ___ - " jaydoc_paed " <jaydoc_paed <jyotish-vidya > Saturday, October 27, 2007 4:47 PM a beginner's doubts As I'm a new student of the ancient science that is Jyotish, I request all learned ones to treat my humble queries with grace. 1. Guest guest
Dear Wendy.... thanks for the suggestion of a good book. I will order for it rightaway. Can you explain what the moon is benefic/malefic, for this nativity. It is mine actually. a beginner's first tryst with jyotish usually begins with his own nativity, of course...!! Birth time is 9.20 PM IST, 3rd Sep 1979, at Ramanathapuram, near Rameswaram, also called Ramnad, Tamilnadu, India. the moon - is a kendhradipathi. But it is a natural benefic as it is waxing. so does it suffer from the K dosha...? i read elsewhere that for the moon this principle can be applied less vigorously. is that true from your own experiences...? please enlighten me. the Moon is the strongest of the planets in my nativity accdg to Shadbala. so i'm curious to know if it is a benefic or malefic for me. and it aspects my fourth house. I share a tumultous relatioship with my mother, which blows hot now and cold soon, alternating between the two extremes. Its a curious phenomenon, and puts me in great confusion. More than that, with my aquarius moon, and aries lagna, I have a tendency to put career and wealth before family and happiness. all due to that veritable tug of war that goes on in my 5th house, which is too full for its own good. I have read that the fifth house is the house of karma that is ours to perform in this birth... looks like I, for one have plenty to do for my own good in the future rebirths...!! Guest guest
Dear Wendy...and others too...! I first of all apologize for that goof of mine...! Of course, my moon is capricorn. I don't know why i said its Aquarius. It is capricorn. and my lagna lord is in 3rd, Gemini. Now that you have my chart, I think that you do realize that for a beginner like me, my 5th house is going to be an enigma, that I may never interpret right. Can you provide me with the key to its interpretation...? Here is my most important doubt. So many planets are combust. The only good aspect on my lagna comes from Jupiter, however Jupiter is in degree 1, in Leo - Bala Avastha. Shadbala of all planets is above the reqd rupas. However I don't know if i ought to attach more importance to shadbala, or Combustion or bala avastha. How bad are all those combust grahas. Rahu is in the house of his mortal enemy, and also is ALONG with him too...! the sun is my most important benefic. However he is eclipsed by rahu...! In turn he turns other planets combust...! Can't make head or tail, no pun intended...! Anyone..?!! Please enlighten me. Is there any clear way to interpret planetary strength, or is it just intuition...?
