Guest guest
Dear Ravindramani, Savithri and All, Of course, the essential point here is the (earlier) statement that our level of supposed free will (desires, self-effort, deliberate actions, motivation etc..) manifests within the boundaries dictated by our own karma. No doubt we see this self-effort from 3rd house... No doubt for you, Ravindramani, your leaning towards jyotish etc., is evidenced by the occupancy of 9th lord Sun (in 3rd)... So, can we say that your interest in jyotish and other 9th house significations was a matter of 'free will' or is it preordained? You may wish to elaborate on this considering the aspect of 3rd lord Saturn (who sits in nakshatra of Ketu) and lagna lord Jupiter. By doing this you can see the complexity that governs your so-called free-will. I'm not saying we have no free-will at all; just that it's within the parameters set by our own karma. Guest guest
Dear Mrs. Wendy, As per basic tenets of astrology, my third lord Saturn is having connection with his house (3rd house of self efforts). He has the relation with all the three major planets, who are supposed to do anything good to me, i.e. the Jupiter, the Lagna lord, the 5th lord Mars and the 9th lord Sun. Further the Saturn connects the 10th house with all these planets from the Lagna. I have to get everything with my self efforts; and the individual should put utmost self efforts; I think this could be the first delineation by any astrologer who goes through my chart. I chosen the girl and I solemnized my marriage with my money which I earned;I earned four promotions in government of India through competitive examinations;I swear, any thing and everything that happens to me is through my self efforts only; I have to work hard then I am getting; I refused to learn astrology from my grandfather, father and my Uncle (elder brother of my father) when they tried to teach me or pass on their knowledge to me, stating it is useless to believe in stars and planets though I listen their arguments and go through the books at home whenever I bored with my other areas of interest. At one point of time I ran from pillar to post to search a teacher to learn astrology properly. At the same time I know pretty well I born with five brothers and two sisters; I had no choice; I born to very religious and highly disciplined parents; I had no personal choice over this area; I born in Kanchipuram; I did not exercise any choice over this area; I was taught by my teacher that everything is preordained and the level of free will is also a part of preordination. He told me once it is because of the dashas in operation one does not believe in astrology at one particular time and start doing it for 12 hours a day at another point of time. Very frankly I am not able to come to any decision which is prevailing over which vis-à-vis in the matter of freewill and preordination. Regards, C.S. Guest guest
Dear Ravindramani, ///Further the Saturn connects the 10th house with all these planets from the Lagna. I have to get everything with my self efforts; and the individual should put utmost self efforts; I think this could be the first delineation by any astrologer who goes through my chart./// Indeed you're absolutely correct :-) This supports what I said concerning the two examples (SA in 3rd) that I spoke of in earlier mail i.e... *As fate would have it (pun intended) both have Rx Saturn in 3rd aspected by Mars.Saturn indicates discipline, endurance, persistence etc., whilst Mars shows energy, courage, ambition and force of character. Certainly these natives HAVE succeeded in life through their own efforts...no doubt of that! However this very characteristic is stamped in their cosmic blueprint and can be interpreted by the astrologer as one who will succeed in life through his own efforts.* ///I was taught by my teacher that everything is preordained and the level of free will is also a part of preordination. He told me once it is because of the dashas in operation one does not believe in astrology at one particular time and start doing it for 12 hours a day at another point of time./// I agree with your teacher on this point :-) ///PS: Sorry for taking too much space to put forth my views. It's a salve to the irritation caused by some members who sent abusive mails saying that the 'discussions' were a waste of time and the group should be helping others more by reading charts. Those members were removed from the group; not for expressing their opinion but for their abusive mode of expression. It's been made perfectly clear on the group website that this is a discussion group for astrologers and students of astrology wishing to expand their knowledge through healthy discussion/debate. Naturally, discussing horoscopes is an important element; But there can be no meaningful discussion with someone who has no knowledge or interest in jyotish other than to solicit a free reading. Quality of debate is, and will remain (on this forum), more important than the quantity (of members)... Guest guest
Hello, and thank you for your kind reply to my question. You have asked for additional details regarding the life of this person, and with permission, I will oblige. He was born the third of six children, eldest son with two older sisters, the eldest of which died in an automobile accident in February 1992. His mother died of breast cancer on May 18, 1990. His father still lives, suffers from diabetes, gout and high blood pressure. This person has travelled widely on an international level, but has endured many difficulties while travelling ( sickness, financial losses). On September 7,2006, he had surgery on his right leg, below the knee. It was called tibial plateau surgery, to repair a broken tibia. Steel plates and screws were inserted in his leg. On December 20,1996, he had lumbar surgery, the L5/S1 area, to remove a prolapsed disc in the spine. ( according to the medical record, the first incision was made at 10:23 PM PST, location, Seattle Washington USA) I hope these details prove helpful. Again, I wish to thank you all very much for your kind assistance and willingness to provide information and insight. With this time the operating dasa was SA-RA-KE... Natal Ketu occupies 8th house of accidental incidents etc., and was transited by lagna karaka Sun on day of stroke...Ketu himself was transiting lagna lord Mercury (in 12th) in sign of Leo. BTW (in my days of nursing) a stroke was referred to as a CVA (cerebral vascular accident)... This, of course, is a very, very tentative T.O.B. and would need to be verified/rectified by matching some significant details of the native's life. It would be good if you could supply some information in this regard. Best Wishes, Mrs. Wendy http://JyotishVidya.com jyotish-vidya ___ Never miss a thing. Make your homepage. Just very quickly for now as I really must get away from the computer as quickly as I can to prepare for tomorrow. No time (at the moment) to look at the specific dates you've provided; however, lagna does seem to support (at least) some of the details of his life... 1) TWO ELDER SISTERS: 11th (elder sibling) owned by female planet (Moon) who occupies duel sign of Gemini. 2) DEATH OF ELDER SISTER: Moon occupies 12th from 11th in nakshatra of 8th lord Mars. Moon's dispositor (Mercury) occupies 12th from lagna and 12th from Jupiter (karaka for elder sibling). 3) DIFFICULTIES WHILST TRAVELLING ABROAD: Rx lagna lord in 12th aspected by 6th lord Saturn etc.. Guest guest
Dear Mrs. Wendy, If I am permitted to write a line over here, Saturn the Asc lord moves to 6th and influences the 3rd house, and thus gives the tendency to procrastinate or delay. It is because of the role of 12th lordship and with a malefic Rahu, Jupiter at times give the tendency of loss of motivation..... from the Moon the 3rd lord Jupiter is with Rahu and the third is aspected by Saturn.... Guest guest
Dear Ravindramani, Thank you; your observations are not wrong! Saturn, as you say, IS a slow-moving sluggish planet... From another angle I see that the excess (potential imbalance) of kapha dosha, indicated by 3rd lord Jupiter aspecting lagna from Cancer, can typically (if not corrected) lead to lethargy, manifesting (ultimately) in chronic procrastination/laziness. I further see the aspect of Jupiter's nakshatra lord Mercury on 3rd (from 9th) as an indicator of strong motivation/initiative in regards to intellectual pursuits, whilst the aspect of lagna lord Saturn on 3rd (from 6th) is testament to the fact that one has to work hard to achieve results etc, etc.. The truth of the matter is that I absolutely loath housework of any kind! I do it, of course, because I loathe even more being untidy...everything has to be 'just right'...a place for everything and everything in its place! However I do tend to put things off to the last minute until it's PANIC time... Mind you, I've long since come to terms with my karma and accept that I'm more inclined towards intellectual work than physical work. The bane of my existence, of course, is the aspect of Saturn that determines (loathe it or not) I still HAVE to do it. Guest guest
Dear Wendy, I have no doubt that the free will is limited by the bounds of karma. Obviously, different people would have different degrees of free will. I guess what could alter the destiny of a person (to an extent bound by karma) is whether that person exercises his free will or not.
