Dear Sridhar,

 

The reason for Thursday Upavas(fasting) is based on the chart UL (Upapada Lagna) falls in Dhanur Rasi(Sagittarius) which is house of Jupiter (Guru) means Thursday. Since you already worship Guru form Shiridi Sai Baba that confirms more that you are already worshipping Guru. Fasting on Thursday is a Good thing both for you and for the marriage.

 

Kula Devata is a deeper philosophy. I don't have your chart with me here.
