Guest guest
Dear Shantnu, The Autobiography of a Yogi by Paramahamsa Yogananda is a fantastic book based on yogis of yore. Astrology is a science defined in vedas and yogis manifest vedas. In the same book Yoganada has included his dialogue with His Guru Sri Yukteshwar who talks about the importance of gems and their astrological significance. It has been explained at a higher plane meaning planets are cosmic forces which yield results without like or dislike. Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa has stated that destiny can be won by divine grace. And so has Markandeya, Bagiratha, sadi savitri and many great souls. The most powerful weapon in the world is human thought. Whether we use it or lose it is a different question. An ordinary man called Sidhartha became Holy Buddha based on will power. There is a plane higher than mortal existence, but to get there is a himalayan task - perhaps .05% of human population only reach there. Until planets sway powers. Rememeber Sri Sai Baba of Shirdi advised his ardent devotee to throw aside horoscopes and predictions and to believe in him whole- heartedly. I am myself an astrologer and have gretest respect for the subject and worship planets - But I think your estimation on yogis is horribly wrong. 'Yogis are my living forms' - Sri Krishna in Bhagwad Gita. Love Akbar vedic astrology , " Shantnu " <shanracer wrote: > > Not only in Autobiography of a Yogi, but in his other books as well > Yogananda says that planets have little or no effect, they can be > thwarted by will power. > > This is nonsense- first to thwart a planet by willpower, you must when > the planets are about to create trouble for you, for which you need > astrology! > > Besides, as Svoboda said in his book " Aghora " (part 3 I think),as well > as the masterful Light on Life, the planets work by twisting & > corrupting your mind- willpower has little or nothing to do with it! > > To completely reject the power of planets, you must be aware 24 hours > a day.
