Guest guest
Dear Bhaskar, Far better to use this as an opportunity to teach rather than to condemn. By doing so doubts as to the intentions of the Rishis may be dispelled for many... The best teachers endeavour to lead softly without denying sincere students the opportunity to learn from mistakes/misconceptions...wouldn't you say? A constructive debate on the points raised by Balaji would, I'm sure, be very helpful to many who may have similar questions in the back of their mind. The times we live in (particularly in the West) are very different today and many basic values have sadly fallen by the wayside. So it's not uncommon for the younger generation to question age-old principles. A wise jyotisha would welcome this opportunity to guide rather than condemn...condemnation is easy! It's not so easy to lead gently through the maze of uncertainty towards clarity. Best Wishes, Mrs. Wendy http://JyotishVidya.com jyotish-vidya ___ - " Bhaskar " <bhaskar_jyotish <jyotish-vidya > Wednesday, March 21, 2007 3:00 PM MOMENTARY PLEASURE. Nowadays its become a habit to create uproars or gain momentary recognitions , and one torches big men or people of repute or the famous ones to prove himself smarter and very wise. Those who find any injsutice in any Shastras, should not try to then open these shastras, neither refer to them, neither gain fame from them, neither use them for a living, and just shut up. Trying to find fault or injustices without giving thought for retrospection about the times and circumstances when these shastras were written, one should not make comments unnecessarily and show that the writers were wrong or unjustified. Its like eating food from a plate and then making hole in that same plate. Instead of keeping a biased and negative approach and unnecessary uncalled favourutism towards the fairer sex, if one looks and studies with a positive approach, one would know that the rishis form the inner Circle of Gods advisors , and certainly they knew what they were writing. It is our mind of today which is narrowed, trying to give credence to the soft species, because of shortcomings in our own self, and not because of any unlawful dispense of justice by the Rishis, that we see the differences shown towards both the sexes in the jyotish Shastras. Its high time that we start feeling sorry for ourselves rather than for the luminaries like Sitaji and the likes, for if its the men who have caused sufferings towards them, then we belong to the same species. We have to remove first lust from within us, then we should talk about cleansing our ancestors and their sermons (Jyotish or whatever). Lets bother about ourselves rather than create controversies about nothing just because we have spare time on hand. We are going to become ancestors soon, just a matter of time, just get ready to be remembered as good ones. Bhaskar.
Guest guest
Dear Madam, As You say so But the points raised in this issue and initiated were not raised by students, and would on the contrary raise doubts in students minds., those who must have never thought on those lines, would now start thinking, " Yes why this discriminations ? " Actually no discrimination is there. On the contrary Women were more revered in the olden days and society, and there was no place for discriminations unless the women was unchaste. Such type of issues if raised by students I can understand, but if unnecessary provoked into thinking by Men bigger by age and who are supposed to be responsible,, it will lead to more confusions rather than any solutions for the beginenrs and newcomers in astrology. This is like creating something out of nothing. And Yes I agree what Your goodself said. Condemnation is easy. That was already done by Shri Balaji. I was just doing the repair work. Okay and Yes it should be done in a constructive manner and not in a vociferoius way, as I did. That part shall try to complete well. Thanks and regards for being kind and patient. Sincerely, Bhaskar. jyotish-vidya , " Wendy Vasicek " <jyotish wrote: > > Dear Bhaskar, > > Far better to use this as an opportunity to teach rather than to condemn.
