Dear Friends,

There are four types of Karkas-Significators:

1). Natural signification(s) of Planets , Signs , Houses and also Nakshatras.

Every nativity also have its combined signification - this IS ascertained with

the

help of Nabhas yogas.

2). Char karkas- they are eight in number for individual charts- and seven

in number for Mundane charts like charts of nations etc .In later scheme

Putra Char Karka is not considered along with Rahu

3). Sthir - Fixed KARKAS representing specific relations-They are used

to find out the bad periods or death of relatives.

4). Each house has a Karka planet-like:1st-Sun,2nd-Jupiter,3rd-Mars

and so on.Karka Bhava NASHO is aplicable to these Karkas only i.e.

if Sun is placed in 1st house and so on.

Nasha is sanskrit word which means that one do get the results but

does not benifit from such result - outcome recived is not fruitfull. But a

planet when placed in its karka Bhava gives results on account of other

reasons and yogas. Such results wll be fully relised by the native.

Namaste G.K.Goel ji,

May I please request you to share any references on the ... " Karka Bhava

NASHO.. " that you wrote in your message below. So a native with Sun in lagna

with

have failing health? or Moon in 4th will have trouble wrt mother? These

delineations are in contrast to classics view, and therefore I would like to

learn from your experiences.

dear friends

may all those who blindly push the theory of karaka bhava nasha

mention the source of this verse and its meaning.

neecha bhanga rajayoga and uchha bhanga daridra yoga does not find in

ancient orient classics but are pushed which makes the basic astro

principles a laughing stock.

pushing theories contradicting the very basic astro principles has

become the order of the day with so many man made or man created or

recently discovered yogas which do not find in original astro

classics. by publicisng such contrarian new theories is only making

the maze of astro principle more perplexed and more obfuscated

instead of making an astro learner understand these principles in

simple holistic way.

Dear Friends,

I personally attend many conferences and it is common to hear that such and

such yogas or dictum is not given by the sages of the yore. But this raises

following issues:

1) All the literature written in ancient era is not available to us now. In

the absence of printing presses and paper, main and basic principles were

enumerated and their details

and additional information was given by word of mouth. Even, famous

commentator of works of Varha Mihira had indicated that he could not lay hand on

Parasara’s Hora Shastra and Samita.Had he got the access to these works, the

style of his commentary would have been quite different.

2) The Karikas and subsequent Jatak literature is also authentic and is of

immense value.

The yogas and dicta given in this literature can not be ignored or under-

rated.

The dictum,’KARKA BHAVA NASHO’ is given in ‘SARVARTHA CHINTAMANI’

This dictum has three words which mean as under:

Karaka: this refers to Bhava Karaka only, I repeat only bhava karaka

..Naisargik, Char or

Sthir karakas are not covered in this dictum. One can refer chapter 33 on

Karakas in ‘BPHS’

BHAVA: one sign will contain one bhava as per dictum of Arsha jyotish.Bhava

systems as per Shripati, Keshav, Tajic orKP systems will not be applicable.

NASHO:This means ‘adarshan’-i.e.though the results will be there but benefit

will not be fully realized or felt.

I Strongly SUGGEST that kindly study ‘Bhavartha Ratnakar’ authored by St.

Ramanujacharya and translated and commented by Dr. B.V.Raman.This will give

Fairly good idea on this very complex matter.

Sloka9 Chapter2 of this classic says:

“If the different Karakas are present in their respective Bhavas, such bhavas

lose vitality and give rise to little results”

Comments of Dr. Raman:

This is an important stanza. Sun in lagna will affects the vitality of self,

in9th of father, Mars in 3rd siblings, Rahu in 6th maternal relations, Moon in

4th mother etc.

There are many exceptions:

a. Jupiter in 2nd is not bad for knowledge and prosperity but for finance in

its dasa

b. Saturn in 8th is not bad for longevity

c. if KARKA is with bhava lord , it will promote indication of bhava

d. If planet is in any yoga, such results will not be obstructed by placement

of

KARAKA IN ITS SIGNIFIED BHAVA.

e. IF Jupiter is lord of 1st or 5th house and placed in Kendra/trikona houses.

In such a case,

even in 5th house will not harm 5th house. Sun in Aries in Lagna and moon is

in4th simultaneously; this is a par-excellent yoga and does not harm 1st and 4th

house.

This is a complex issue and needs in depth study.

A strong Karaka always strengthen it designated bhava.Mr Visti Larsen in

chapter seven of his book ‘JYOTISA FUNDAMENTALS ‘ has made an in depth study ,

which require

further research.

The savants should avoid premature and hasty comments.

REGARDS TO ALL
