Guest guest
Dear Su, What I am writing below may not have all consensus with all written. But let me share what I can, leavingit to the reader, and anyone else to correct me, wherever i may be wrong. 0 Degrees for any planet is considered to be of Mruth avastha or (Dead Planet) with no power of its own to act good or bad. Some may say that a dead malefic is more deadlier. Some may say that a dead benfic is not benefic at all. But above is not what I believe in. The sky is a 360 degrees belt, and we have made these compartments for our own benefit, to make the work easier for us, and also because the configuration of stars behind these walls certainly show a seperate drama being unfolded on each stage (Sign), which the ancients have recorded and what we know of today as the different characteristics of different signs. So though the walls are not there yet a planet may be considered by someone as 0 degrees in any sign, for instance if we take an example then 0 degrees Leo. But I would consider here as the planet possessing degrees of 120 . Which means I would consider this planet as having qualities of both the preceding sign ,Cancer, as well as the subsequent sign Leo, and try to find out through calculations, queries, how is this planet exactly behaving in this natives Life. Therefore 1st point- 1)O degrees means qualities of two signs. Next - 2) This planet would be in a particular constellation, We will have to check the Owner planet of this constellation. Next - 3) The dispositor where 0 degrees falls. For example if planet in 0 degrees Leo, then where did the Sun go ? If it is exalted, then the planet with 0 degrees is said to be fortified. Next- 4) What is the Navamsha position of this planet at 0 degrees.. ( I expect a mathematical query here if someone can think of it). Next- 5) The sign where this planet is positioned, and this sign is the exaltation sign of the planet aspecting this planet, then too this sign and planet and house becomes strong. For ex. Venus placed in 0 degrees Taurus. If Moon is aspecting this sign Taurus, then Venus no more remains weak, as understood due to its obtaining 0 degrees only at birth. Plus add in Ashtakvarga, and whatever have you. Thus its not necessary that 0 degrees may be in fact bad for a planet to be in, is what I feel, cause it is subject to many other influences and changes due to above and other factors, which I may not remember at this point of time. Next- (Important) What would be the effects if anyones ascendant is at 0 degrees of any sign, is what I am putting query about. I would keep my own comments for later. regards, Bhaskar. jyotish-vidya , " vreality_au " <reality_v wrote: > > Dear Wendy/Members > > Could someone be so kind as to advise me on how to interpret planets at > 0 deg - > > thanks > Su >
Guest guest
Dear Su, Bhaskar and All, Absolute preciseness of calculation is of utmost importance here to be certain whether the planet is in fact at 00:00:00 and not 29:59:59. In either case, a planet in bhava sandhi is significantly weakened. We need to remember that the rasi that has become the bhava (rasi chakra) is from 00:00:00 - 30:00:00 precisely... Guest guest
Dear Wendyji/ Bhaskarji, I quote from the Phaldeepika Adhyaya XV Sloka 13 which says that Sloka 13 : A planet may be in his exaltation or may occupy a friendly house and may be endowed with the 6 kinds of strength. Notwithstanding all this, if he should happen to be in a Bhavasandhi, he becomes ineffective. This should first be noted before predicting, the effects of the Dasas and Bhuktis of planets. Wendyji, could you please throw some light on whether the significations of the concerned palnet will suffer or only the effects of the planet due to its placement in particular Rasi & house will suffer? Guest guest
Dear RRS(?), A planet in bhava sandhi is rendered impotent. Which to say his potential for expression within the bhava he's placed is virtually nil. //Wendyji, could you please throw some light on whether the significations of the concerned palnet will suffer or only the effects of the planet due to its placement in particular Rasi & house will suffer?// Obviously, as Bhaskar has mentioned, we cannot separate the effect of a planet from its significations...its effects are seen through its significations! Perhaps this can best be explained with an example. I have the chart of a native with 12th lord Saturn in bhava sandhi (00:03 Aquarius). Although this native has other fine qualities, the significations of Saturn i.e. responsibility, discipline, perseverance, endurance, sense of duty and so forth are very much lacking in his life. As per Saturn's lordship of 12th, he suffers very much with his feet as well as other (negative) matters governed by this house. As Saturn disposits 2nd/9th lord Mars and 6th lord Sun, this native has difficulties with family, education and finances; Solutions to problems are difficult to find etc.. His ability to rise above enemies, vices, diseases, suffering, wounds etc is hampered, as is his ability to cope with work (daily job). 12th is known as the house of misery and, no doubt, Saturn so afflicted here has brought a lot of misery and suffering into his life. So, we see that the effect of Saturn in bhava sandhi (in this chart) has far-reaching effects. PS: The fact that Saturn is both lord and karaka for 12th needs to be carefully noted. Another bhava might be less afflicted if its karaka is strong...every horoscope is unique! Please specify this before any reply is solicited.// Bhaskarji, I think Wendyji has rightly wrote a planet cannot be separated from its significatons. However when I wrote my thoughts I meant that " Let us assume that a lord of a trikona (supposedly a benefic for the chart, being lord of trikona) is placed in an unfavourable house......then obviously the significations of the house strengthen by virtue of the placement of a benefic in it but the significations of the planet weaken by vortue of its placememnt in an unfavourable house " Wendyji, //As Saturn disposits 2nd/9th lord Mars and 6th lord Sun.....// In the example chart you have given, does Saturn disposits .....or aspects the 2nd/9th/6th houses? I understand that lagna should be Pisces and Saturn is in Aquarius 00-03' in Rasi Sandhi. Also could I have the birth details/chart details of the native whose example chart has Bhava Sandhi...in case it is not a problem for you?
