Guest guest
Manasa, Thanks a lot!!!!! I'm a Capricorn!!!! =) =) =) And so is my MOM!!!! =D =D =D Hahahaha. To be serious... Thank you for responding to my post. However, I don't think " materialistic " is a word that should be brought in. It is too value-laden. When we ascribe qualities to signs in general we should be as value-non-specific as possible, for each sign will show it's effects to a positive or negative degree depending on the STRENGTH of the ascendant. Thus some Capricorns will be lazy bastards who steal for a living, and others will be tireless workers for the sake of God. Actually the upper half of Capricorn is a deer, which is very noble. The bottom half is a crocodile, which is extremely strong. What this tells you is that, more than any other signs, a Capricorn person can embody opposites in the same being. They can be both lazy and hardworking, both vicious and gentle, etc. For sure, Capricorns are dutiful, lonely, private, and concerned with money. But you have to examine the moksha bhavas at least before saying one is " materialistic " . Notwithstanding an individual chart, in general Capricorns have energetic and pious moksha bhavas (owned by Mars, Sun, and Jupiter). Thus although they are concerned with finances, it is not for personal aggrandizement, and they are often charitable with their wealth and work hard for good causes. Taurus people work hard because their emotions drive them too. Capricorns work hard because they must, it is their duty, their very nature, they know no other way. I admit I have to examine a lot more charts before my words hold a lot of weight, but I've given the subject of Capricorn a LOT of meditation and thought already. Guest guest
Dear Manasa and Vic, I think there might be a little confusion here. If I'm not mistaken Manasa, you have Moon in Capricorn (Leo lagna), whilst Vic has Capricorn lagna with Moon in Taurus... My rasi sign is also Capricorn ..so you may think it might be about myself that I wrote.. But I didn't, my personal encounter with few capricorns made me write this and your query was also based on money..It didn't even cross my mind that you may be a capricorn..Please don't take it personally..I clearly understand the influence of planetary placement makes a huge difference and that you are a very nice person from the way you gave me the reply.. I am so sorry if I hurt your feelings.. Saturn in my second house plays its tricks occasionally... Sorry again.. Thank you Manasa

Guest guest
Manasa! Just see.. you are so sensitive to the feelings of others, It's a wonderful quality. However, PLEASE... it was NO INSULT at all. Unlike what you would expect from a Capricorn (I think) I can be quite jovial and a joker at times! I was just joking and playing around. =) - Vic On Jun 3, 2008, at 5:19 AM, m2sangeeth wrote: > Dear Mrs. Wendy, > > You are right about my moon sign and lagna.Frankly, I didn't > know Vic was Cp. lagna and has his moon sign Tr., when I wrote about > Capricorn. Guest guest
Dear Manasa, Here (in part) is the description of Capricorn lagna as it appears in BPHS Vol II. " The native of this Ascendant is economical, prudent, reasonable, thoughtful and practical minded. He is methodical, slow, steady and patient. He is calculative and business-like. A Capricorn native is capable of taking quick decisions. He will have push and confidence. He has special organising capacity and lot of tolerance. He will be honest, sincere and reliable unless the Ascendant has evil influences on it. The natives of this Ascendant have to face lot of obstacles, difficulties and hindrances, but they are capable of overcoming them. They are hard workers and are able to consolidate their position sooner or later. " Of course this is a generic description and doesn't take into account any other influences on Ascendant. Even if they have good savings, they always feel insecure financially or in other words never happy with what they have. They end up as workaholics so as to earn more money; follow quite strict routine when it comes to expenditure. They have this feeling that their expenditure is always on the rise; infact that is the same with everyone. Problem here is that these people are too self-oriented. Their illusions create the dampening and expansive effect that you have mentioned. Two capricorns I know are quite rich.Perhaps, Taurians fit into that profile of thrifty spenders. Regards, Manasa
