Dear Pravin,

 

The problem appears to be mainly due to the weakness of both

Mercury and Saturn.

 

- Saturn is debilitated and is in the nkahstra of 12th lord

Venus which is placed badly in a Sandhi. Occupies 6th house and

an enemy house.

 

- Mercury is 8th lord, again in the nakshatra of weak Venus.

 

- Rahu afflicts weak Saturn by disposition. Note that Rahu

occupies the nakshatra of 6th lord Mars.

 

The internal problem (shrinking of Motor Neurons) might have

started when Venus-Rahu period began during Feb. 2005 and might

reached alrming proportions by now.

 

There could be some reprive when Venus-Jupiter period starts in

Feb. 2008 as Jupiter is blessing Lagna. But, the bad news is

Dear Pravin,

 

What you say is correct! ALS is a motor neurone disease (MND) which,

basically, is the degeneration and eventual loss of motor neurons within the

brain and spinal cord. As per my understanding, KETU is the prime indicator

for the nervous system per se including the spine. SATURN is also associated

with the nerves of the body whilst Mercury signifies nerve centres/sensorium

specifically. Both 1st house and Aries govern head/brain...note, lagna lord

(in lagna) occupies nakshatra of Saturn debilitated in 6th in sign of Aries.

 

It's not my wish to be insensitive here, only to point out the astrological

indicators found in the chart. So far in the history of humanity no one has

escaped death; it's as natural a part of life as birth itself. One day

everyone here will move on from this life (as it's meant to be)...

 

According to the dictums of Parashara, 3rd house shows the cause of one's

death, and, in this chart, Ketu's dispositor (Sun) occupies 3rd in sign of

Saturn who, himself, aspects this house. As dispositor of bhukti lord Rahu,

Saturn's intentions in this regard are manifesting (diagnosis made) due to

using lahiri get the lagna to be 0deg 2' in sagittarius)

Ascendent is in moola nakshatra in near exact oncjunction with

functional malefic 6th and 11th lord venus who also occupies moola

nakshatra. Ths is a strong indication of the disease potential.

 

Vargottama mercury, who is in lagna, has been able to express its

bhadaka properties in full because of its reulership of maandi (in

virgo). Mercury is the significator of nervous system. Mercury also

carries with it its maraka properties (7th lordship), but does not

express its kendradhipathi dosa as it is placed in lagna (in bhava

chart mercury moves to the 2nd house and therefore may express this

dosa to some extend).

 

Now why an expression of this affliction as a neuro muscular disorder?

Mars is the natural significator of muscle and it is also the 12th

lord. Mars is first in shadbala and also the final significator of

all the other planets gaining great strength. Mars is less than 3 deg

away from the lagna lord jupiter, who is weakest in shadbala and has

been totally overcome by Mars. The 12th house represents decay and

waste and the significations of mars (muscle) and jupiter (body(lagna

lord), happiness) are wasted away leading to confinment (12th house

properties).

Together Mercury and Mars have brought about this crippling effect.

 

Taking the moon as the ascendant we find the ascendant being subject

to papakartari yoga between saturn, who is debility cancelled, and

Rahu occupying his own house of aquarius.

 

In the Navamsa chart the ascendant is along the rahu ketu axis with

Venus the 2nd and 7th lord in the lagna. the 12th lord jupiter

aspects lagna along with lagna lord (positive factor).

 

 

Overall, when the lagna is deeply afflicted, Ayus gets limited.

 

Remedy:

In such situations, Maha mrityunjaya mantra and, if possible, the

maha mrityunjaya homa.

Dear Wendy,

 

for the badaka analysis I have used the notes given in " advanced

principles of prediction " by Gayatri Devi Vasudev and for calculating

maandi's position I have used the notes provided in " prasna marga " by

B.V.Raman.

 

If lagna is scorpio, then the lagna lord mars is very strong, still

being first in shadbala and the dispositor of all the other planets.

The lagna has jupiter who as the 5th lord (benefic) and also the 2nd

lord (maraka)is, overall, considered a benefic.

Thank you so much for your response. You are too kind.

I have provided all the information from you email about the food/diet to his

family members.

 

Currently he is in Albania to seek some indigenous treatment. Some guy there

claims that he can cure him.

 

I don't understand part which you have written on astrology. Could you kindly

explain what these combination of stars mean.

and when it is going to change.

 

The strange thing about all of this is all the test like cat scan, MRI are

normal.

 

Doctors can not firmly say that it is ALS. It is just based on the symptoms that

they

are concluding that it is ALS.

I was away for some time from my station. I really appreciate you

that you have gathered so much information about the food that the

person should consume under such condition.

 

I just cast the chart. The chart is, Scorpio rising with 29:48, Mars

and Jupiter located in Ascendant. Moon is located in Pisces in the

5th house with 14:40 and that gives Pisces Navamsa. This seems to

be tentatively O.K. in relation to the very little information we

have on this chart.

 

In my view, as a cursory glance, Mercury aspecting his own house

promises longevity. Mars, the Asc. Lord aspects the 8th reinforce

the same. Further, the Saturn, from sixth aspects the 8th who is

the singificator for longevity. The Moon under papakartari yoga is

a concern whereas Venus the 8th lord moving to a Kendra with benefic

promises longevity. The angles become neat and clean.

 

Jupiter is waging a lone battle from the Lagna. The 5th lord is so

placed that he is treating the Mars as his neutral and the Lagna lord

treats him as his neutral, and thus not in a comfortable position to

give much relief. Saturn the 3rd Lord debilitated in 6th is a

blessing in disguise. In Navamsa he is exalted. The Moon occupies

the place of its debilitation.

Sarvarthachintamani, translated by Surya Narayana Rao, a planet is in

papakartari yoga only if the planets that are causing it are within a

radius of 30 degrees from the planet that is afflicted. Here both

This is a typical chart. It is difficult, at least for me, to fix

the lagna of this gentleman, so easily? It is not an easy job. There

are number of other factors are to be considered. At the moment, I

do prefer to stick with Scorpio.

 

How do you justify there are two occasions of marriage with the same

person? He married the same woman twice. Once through papers - must

have adopted some legal method and through a ceremony- a stamp of

approval.... Jupiter's role of tradition and sanctity.... It could

be justified through Scorpio.

 

What about the " Very honest " and " Very mild mannered person " ? I can

explain it very easily with Scorpio.

 

One should clearly see the date of marriage and the child birth. As

per the dates given, the child must have conceived prior to the

marriage and then the marriage ceremony took place. A clear stamp of

approval wanted by the parents of the child, before the child is

born. The D-9 and D-7 should show all this...

You are cent percent correct. No problems whatsoever.

 

The person concerned is running VE/RA/MO. The placement of Rahu in

the 12th house from Moon has a definite meaning and it has to

manifest in the appropriate period. So is the case with Saturn who

is placed from the Moon in the second house.

 

Rahu and Ketu are not planets; they are nodes; they have no material

existence; still we are instructed to treat them as planets for the

purpose of astrology. Rahu and Ketu have been assigned certain

specific significations as that of other planets. They are governed

by certain special rules for certain purposes. Rahu and Ketu are no

exception to the general rules of astrology, my commonsense says so.

 

When treating the Moon as Lagna, Rahu is located in 12th house of

death. Rahu stands for " fear " . From the Moon, the karaka for

mind, as the reference point, this means " it is the fear of death " .

It is what the individual is experiencing.

 

When treating the Moon as Lagna, Saturn is located in the 2nd the

marakasthana from where it aspects the 8th house of death. Saturn is

the 12th lord from Moon. Saturn is dispositing Rahu who stands

for " fear " . Now this Saturn is giving the result, the " fear of

death, via Rahu. That is the nature of Rahu which is classified as a

shadowy planet.

 

See this from another angle. Rahu, the element of fear is in the

fourth house of Mind. His house Lord Saturn, the mind and worry, is

in the 6th house of struggle, the Saturn aspects the 12th house of

death, connecting the 8th from Lagna. See the connection of 6th,

8th, 12th and the 3rd. The so vulnerable and impressionable Moon is

in the emotional Pieces between these malefics. (The Moon is yet to

cross the boundary of 72 degrees. – The mind is so impressionable

and susceptible in this chart - the 5th lord Jupiter is neutral to

Mars. Mars is owing 6th too. 6th lord Mars aspects the Rahu which is

in 4th.)

 

Now the fact of the matter is that Rahu is in the 12th from Moon.

Moon stands for Mind. Rahu stands for fear and 12th house stands for
