Hi,

There are some different views on this

1) Should horoscopes be checked during this Period

2) Should horoscopes be matched during this period .

3) Is it dangerious to have marriage talks during this period

If I'm not mistaken you're referring to the period of Pitra Paksha during

which Hindu's honour their ancestors through certain rituals etc..

Certainly this is a good and beneficial practice. However, I think we need

to bear in mind that jyotish is now practiced widely in the West where many

of these rituals are observed in different ways. For instance there is also

a Holy day (All Souls Day) celebrated by Christians around Nov 2 during

which prayers are devoted to, and a special mass offered for the faithful

departed believed to be in purgatory (not yet in heaven).

As for your questions; perhaps other members can advise.

PS: Christians who pray the Rosary daily generally conclude with the prayer;

" May the souls of the faithful departed,

through the mercy of God, rest in peace "

I firmly believe that the similarities in mainstream religions greatly

outweigh the differences...the underlying truth is essentially the same;

" I AM THAT I AM "

Best Wishes,

Mrs. Wendy

PS: The wise sages have instructed that the dictums of jyotish should be

applied according to Desh, Kala and Patra (Country, Times and Individual).
