Much appreciated. You have helped me make up mind. I was debating betn the translation by Santhanam and the one by GC Sharma for BPHS. warm regds Su jyotish-vidya , " Rohiniranjan " <rohini_ranjan wrote: > > Dear Su, > > The one I have seen is translated by R. Guest guest
Dear Rohini, ///Now, please tell me something. Does Santhanam's BPHS have the sanskrit slokas?/// Yes it does... I think Su was really asking about Saravali and Brihat-jataka. Or maybe I am misinterpreting your post. Is there a translation of Saravali by GC Sharma available? For Brihat-Jataka, I use KN Saraswathy's one, but I have seen advertised another one available too (forget who the translator is). Now, please tell me something. Does Santhanam's BPHS have the sanskrit slokas? I am a bit concerned about that one because it has chapters missing apparently and that seems to have given rise to this thinking that Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra has had chapters inserted! Please do oblige by responding. RR
Guest guest
Dear RR In Santhanam translation has got sanskarit siloka but commentary of Sharma seems more appropriate for begginer. But may be the version I have was different (ranjan) because in the version it keeps mentioning about bombay edition of chaukhabha ( I went to to the publishers shop in Delhi could not find any thing in english. kamal - Wendy Vasicek jyotish-vidya Tuesday, February 26, 2008 1:56 AM Re: Re: Classics Dear Rohini, ///Now, please tell me something.
