Guest guest
Dear Wendy, //To the best of my knowledge Mars plays no role in the onset of diabetes.// Unfortunately, I come across such varied opinions from Gurus practicing Vedic Astrology for ages. Just to quote one example, I had an e-mail exchange with Shri Sanjay Rath (of SJC fame, I am sure you would have heard about him as he is a very famous astrologer having students world over) on the same subject and he categorically denied any role of Jupiter in causing diabetes. His argument was that Jupiter is karaka for sweet and hence can not play any role in causing a disease related to sugar/glucose. However, he was magnonimously acknowledged that my explation looked logical. And, you have clearly demonstrated that Jupiter is involved in causing diabetes. I wonder why such fundamental differences exist even today between great astrologers. I really respect all of you for your vast knowledge and experience. But, at the same time I am dumb struck when it comes to such varied opinions in fundamental concepts. Hence, for any such statements, I always try to look at the charts for verification. And, so far I have studied over 50 charts of diabetic people and each and every chart shows afflicted Mars without any exception. I guess this cannot be plain coincidence. I have reached my conclusion based on that. It was the same in the case of Jupiter in type 2 diabetic charts. You could be right when you made the statemnt about Mars, but I am in search of the proof. Sorry, if I have offended anyone, though that is not my intention. Guest guest
Dear Wendy, //However, in order to avoid more confusion, it would be better for you if I were to refrain from giving any more advice.// No, that is not what I am aiming at. If that was what I wanted, I would have left this group long ago. I see lot of value in what you advice. What I tried to communicate is that I would like to first see the manifestation in the charts (at least a couple of them) before accepting any rule/statement (irrespective of from whom it is coming, including what is given in BHPS). That is my way of learning. Hope there is nothing wrong with this. It is too difficult for me to follow a Guru blindly. Is there any astrological reason why I behave like this? Is it due to the affliction of Rahu on Guru? Guest guest
Dear Krishna, Just a quick word before I switch off and get some rest. Unfortunately you weren't to know that my history with Mr. Rath goes back many years and the mention of his name on this list is like waving a red flag at a bull. If my memory serves me it was around 10 yrs ago that we first locked horns on Gjlist...he wore his 'Guru Hat' with great aplomb even then. The very fact that he denies categorically any connection between Jupiter and diabetes is testament to his ignorance. But this is not new, this is the way he's always been! I studied both (basic) Ayurveda and Jyotish under the direction of Maharishi (again many years ago) so I do have some understanding of the fundamentals of the doshas and the corresponding diseases related to the grahas. This doesn't make me anything special, it simply means that I've studied the subject under the direction of a bonafide Guru, that's all...nothing more! //It is too difficult for me to follow a Guru blindly. Is there any astrological reason why I behave like this?// It's not necessary to follow any Guru blindly, in fact (for some) it's inadvisable. I have done other courses besides Maharishi Jyotish, and read many authors; So, sticking to a Guru is not really necessary... For you, 9th lord Mars is joined by exalted 12th lord Moon and, as we know, Moon fluctuates, constantly changing. It would likely be a strain (mentally) for you to try to follow one Guru blindly. The aspect of F/M Saturn can be a further hindrance in regards to Guru. //Is it due to the affliction of Rahu on Guru?// I'm sorry Krishna but I follow the traditional view that the nodes cast no aspect. However, as Jupiter sits in nakshatra of 9th lord Mars, the same influences (as above) apply to Jupiter. Note also that Venus, dispositor of both 9th lord and Jupiter, is in sign of great enemy in lagna. This Venus is hemmed-in by Sun (ego) and Mercury (intellect)...verifying that what you have said (below) //I would like to first see the manifestation in the charts (at least a couple of them) before accepting any rule/statement (irrespective of from whom it is coming, including what is given in BHPS). That is my way of learning.// This is obviously the right way for you Krishna, so you shouldn't worry about Guru unnecessarily :-) Best Wishes, Mrs. Wendy http://JyotishVidya.com jyotish-vidya ___ - " Krishnamurthy Seetharama " <krishna_1998 <jyotish-vidya > Wednesday, April 18, 2007 10:56 PM Re: Re: Astrology & Diabetes - Writeup Dear Wendy, //However, in order to avoid more confusion, it would be better for you if I were to refrain from giving any more advice.// No, that is not what I am aiming at. Guest guest
Dear Krishnaji, What I understood from this thread is that Your Guru is in conjunction with Rahu in same sign or near to it, maybe in another sign. If that is the case, then in my personal opinion, You will never have satisfaction from your Gurus , because most of them may try to cheat You or take advantage from You, leaving you with a bad taste. here the effects would be opposite of Guru Chandal Yoga, ie.You would not be the cause, but your Gurus would be. I feel that You should make Dattatreya Your first guru and proceed to learn from all Gurus you meet in Your life, without giving your heart and soul to them, and neither getting too much attached to them mentally or emotionally and use your commonsense and logic for all matters related between you, and leave decesion on these matters , by listening to the voice of your conscience and then decide. I hope this helps, regards, Bhaskar. jyotish-vidya , Krishnamurthy Seetharama <krishna_1998 wrote: > > Dear Wendy, > > I always had a sense of guilt for not having faith in any Guru > and for always questioning what they said. Guest guest
Bhaskar, Using Lahiri ayanamsha and true nodes, Rahu is in 2nd in sign of Virgo whilst Jupiter occupies 3rd in sign of Libra... 2nd lord Mercury, dispositor of Rahu, (in lagna) certainly supports the fact that Krishna's strong intellectual approach to learning takes precedence over Guru... As pointed out previously, Guru's dispositor Venus, hemmed-in between ME/SU, is inimically placed in lagna. Note also the aspect of MA/SA.
