Guest guest
Wendy ji, /// Whosoever therefore shall ***humble*** himself as this little child, he is the greater in the kingdom of heaven. /// [emphasis added] It is so nice to hear such words from you, who have Sani as Lagnadipati! Apart from the humility that Christ refers to here (which is so dear to Sani), there is a simplicity in children, which makes them dear to God. No wonder He is ever eager to forgive them! It is my belief, Wendy ji, that, if a philosophy concerning religion is something that a six-year-old cannot understand, then, God is not going to be interested in it either! :-) ~~~~~~~~~ Balaji Narasimhan Author & Editor http://www.balaji.ind.in/ ~~~~~~~~~ ______________________________\ ____ TV dinner still cooling? Guest guest
Dear Balaji, //there is a simplicity in children, which makes them dear to God.// Perhaps it's the same thing, but I believe it refers to the necessity for childlike innocence in our approach. This is particularly so in meditation for instance...effortlessness, simplicity, innocence leads quickly to transcendence whereas effort tends to hold one on the level of mind hindering transcendence, is this not so :-) Also, if I might add here, the statement; " unless you be converted and become as little children " refers to the conversion of the heart (from worldly desires to the true spirit/self within). Unfortunately many interpret 'conversion' to mean conversion to Christianity...this is not so at all. Everyone interprets scripture from their own level of awareness, is this not so :-) Best Wishes, Mrs. Wendy http://JyotishVidya.com jyotish-vidya ___ - " Balaji Narasimhan " <sherlockbalaji <jyotish-vidya > Thursday, March 08, 2007 8:40 PM Re: Life is so fragile Wendy ji, /// Whosoever therefore shall ***humble*** himself as this little child, he is the greater in the kingdom of heaven. /// [emphasis added] It is so nice to hear such words from you, who have Sani as Lagnadipati! Guest guest
Wendy ji, /// Everyone interprets scripture from their own level of awareness, is this not so :-) /// Sadly, yes! We like to " read " what we want to see, and this is true even in birth charts--especially our own! :-) Subjectivity is lost because we look at something that is too positive or too negative, and balance is thereby lost. Even with reference to the scriptures, people like to quote that which strengthens their arguments, and ignore that which contradicts them. For instance, Duryodana in the Mahabharata regularly quotes Brihaspati on how to tackle enemies. Brihaspati used to advice Indra, and Duryodana used the same strategems against the Pandavas for evil purposes. What you call devil quoting the scriptures! :-) ~~~~~~~~~ Balaji Narasimhan Author & Editor http://www.balaji.ind.in/ ~~~~~~~~~ ______________________________\ ____ Be a PS3 game guru.
