Guest guest
Dear Rajeev God Bless U In my opinion Retrograde planet means to ask any army man to about turn and walk. If Planet is doing bad thing all of a sudden he stop doing bad thing until he is retrograde. If Planet is doing Good thing and all of a sudden he is doing evil thing until he is retrograde. What matter most is Star Lord of house Sub Lord. Let Us Examin this If 7th house Sub Lord is Venus and its Star Lord is Saturn which is Retrograde. One Will Remain Single in Whole Life. Prem Chopra rajee_66v <rajee_66v wrote: dear frends retrograde planets always hard nut to understand, as mentioned by gurujans, i do agree when a planet is retro it gets chesta bala, chesta means attempts , hence retro planets makes natives to take more than one attempt to finish task. if there is retro planets in 7th house or 7th lord being retro it take more than one attempt for marriage. he gets alliances but get dropped. if 4th lord is retro he may take more than one attempt to construct his house , may applicabe to his eductaion where he may change his course selected. similarly it is aplicable to 12 bhava lords.. important is if lagna lord is retro person may have difficulty in taking right decesions, or his social status will be keep ocilating. retro planets lacks stability hence results pertaing to it is similar like wise in horoscope where there is more than one planet retro, we may see unstability to higher extent dasha anater dasha of rahu/ketu and retro planets and vice versa may triggers things ..quite amazingly we have to take into consederation in which constellation it is placed , if it is placed in chara/ugra rasi or nakshtaras again that add ups where as its placement in soumya nakshatra/rashi can be toularable. and this is important in analyzing rajyoga and other combinations to time dasa anaterdasha results retro planet may not need support of mars or sun in transist to trigger event where as non retro planet. always results are felt in transist speacially when planet get retro or rahu ketu change sign where in other case event occurs a bit late till either mars or sun activates the event but if retro planet is aspected by jupiter or venus it tends to calm down a bit but still has tint of retro effects.. mars is planet of action hence PAC of mars and retro planet may be additive while satrun may be minimizing. we have noticed effect of retro mars and retro satrun, both the planets are quite opposite in tatva and gunas. hence easily reflected where as jupiter venus and mercurian effect is lesser seen, and takes times to feel retro effect. Guest guest
Respected Pandit Dakshinamoorthiji Thanks for your insightful detailed reply! It was great to learn that. We indeed are blessed to have you here. May I ask two brief follow up questions. First: were these natives in some kind of military positions in last lives and therefore it is their life lesson this life to learn to tame their anger? Second, would worshipping Lord Hanuman make the Mars direct. That might perhaps help them express aggression easily and rather peacefully and not repress it. Or, will it make them even angrier, since it will activate the mars. Someone recommended me that in view of my current Sade Sati, 2nd phase. But I have Mars retro in Aries in 11th house, third from AL. Two days later I fell down hard on my head, bled, still have a scar and money was stolen from my mother(mars aspects moon too). So I stopped doing that. I am wondering what happened. I am sorry I somehow missed this post earlier. Noticed just now, otherwise I would have responded earlier. Guest guest
Respected Astrologers, As Prem Ji said in his earlier post. According to him, Retrograde planets infact do bad to the effect of the planet and its power, then why do we say that it gains chesta bala when in fact it starts giving bad results as compared to straight planets. I myself have Juipiter, Mercury and Saturn retrograde in my chart. Can any of the astrologers examine my chart and tel me what Good/Bad results it will give to me. I did note that many effects as described by Prem ji in his earlier post proves correct in my case. my DOB 22nd Feb 1981 Place Jhansi (UP, India) Time 16:45 Saturn is 7th Lord and is retrograde...is that the reason that I keep on getting failed attempts on my love affairs??....Juipiter is Lord of 9th and 6th house and is retrograde.Mercury is lord of 12th and 3rd and is retrograde. Lagna is Cancer. Someone on this forum told me that Gaj Kesari Yoga also gets nullified in my chart due to retrograde Juipiter and Saturn's Conjunction. So what are the good effects of having retrograde planets if any, specifically as related to my chart? Guest guest
For the inferior planets, retrogression will be apparently observed when the planet (venus or mercury) is between the sun and earth! In other words, the planet will be receiving full light of the sun but we (earth) would be receiving a bit less! Infinitismally less, mind you, given the disc size of the inferior planets if this occultation 'theory' is to be seriously considered! All planets have syndirectional orbits around the sun! Now if some planets were to actually move opposite to others in their orbital directions (some west to east, others east to west) then we would be in trouble! Whew! Well, not quite! According to the followers of mean lunar nodes (rahu and ketu), their normal direction is opposite those of the other planets, they are always retrograde! And if you decide to side with true lunar nodes, then life gets even more complex! They are mostly retrograde but at times direct! Enjoy ...! Guest guest
This is one concept that confuses me, because I keep hearing conflicting views. Some people say a planet becomes weak due to retrogression, while others claim they gain chesta bala and become powerful. My jupiter, for instance, is retro, and some astrologers say it's weak, but its shadbala (in rupas) happens to be 9.30. The same astrologers say venus is strong, but its shadbala is very poor, under 5. It's not retro either. Still others claim a debilitated planet acts like an exalted one if retro! Maybe, learned members could simplify these, so we can understand which is true and which isn't. Guest guest
Dear Shri. Balaji: Yes....we can see the same pattern. What is more....in this case, Mars as the lord of the 7th and 12th houses is retrograde in the 3rd house.....mix up the significations and the general effects of retrograde Mars and you will get an interesting clue for this life script! Guest guest
Dear Member: Speculating about past lives based on planetary positions is really a tricky subject. But, as you have said, we may say that retrograde Mars indicates that the life lesson a person has to learn to channelise aggression correctly. If we are to believe Naadi readings (I have done some research on that), I have found a regular pattern as follows: Persons with both Mars and Jupiter retrograde generally have been either military commanders, martial arts exponents, or expert surgeons in previous lives, have started their career with good zeal for social service but somehow got degraded with pride and passion in the middle and then later got reformed towards the end of that life. So, their present life does indicate a pattern of events where they feel they are insulted or inhibited in some way which cannot be explained considering their status, power, or talents (like being insulted by someone who by virtue of being lower down the social order cannot imagine doing that! but still to this native they may behave like that; or they do not get expected marks in examinations leading to their disappointment; or they fail to get medical seats though they are innately blessed with healing powers; or military/ administrative careers which start with much promise suddenly get snatched from them by accidents or inexplicable circumstances). Generally these persons are exposed to circumstances where a show of anger could be justified; the circumstances seem to keep prodding the native to react angrily and they have to fight a constant struggle to control themselves. Actually, retrogrades can actually mean hidden potentials. Like the incident I have related in my earlier mail, I very much doubt if the person in question would be alive today if not for the qualities he displayed typical of a retrograde Mars! CHANNELISING THE AGGRESSION CORRECTLY IS THE LESSON TO BE LEARNT THAT IS ALL. There is nothing " wrong " or " negative " or for that matter " positive " about that. Praying to Lord Hanuman is actually good for persons with retrograde Mars. Lord Hanumaan was a typical example of how a courageous and strong person can also be obedient, humble, and possessed of excellent qualities. Praying to HIm will help in channelizing the instincts productively. But, we cannot say that Mars will become " direct " by that prayers; we can say that praying to Lord Hanumaan or chanting Chandi Paath can help the person concerned to tap the " higher and positive " potential of retrograde Mars (like become expert healers, good yogic experts/ skills trainers, army commanders, etc.). In your case, praying to Lord Hanumaan will be good. Blessed be. Guest guest
Thanks Pandit Dakshinamoorthiji, That was very insightful. I will follow your kind advise. When you do find some time, could you comment on one related query. Tropical/western astrologers believe that taking one day for one year, it can be predicted when a planet will go 'direct'. If a planet went direct x number of days after birth. Then after x number of years in essence, according to them, it will start showing the 'direct' affects. Does jyotish also believe something similar. This will be my last question about this. Thanks for your patience and generosity. I am quite ignorant in these matters. Moreover an afflicted lagna doesn't show a great intelligence either. But I do still wish to make a humble suggestion. If you have not already written one, maybe you should write a astro book with the explanations like the ones above. I am sure in particular in the west where people search for 'psychological explanations' more than predictions, it will fill a gap. And will also help people like me with very minimal technical knowledge but a great thirst to 'know thyself' through Jyotish in a easy to read, yet very profound content. Guest guest
Dear Shri. Shiva: No. In vedic jyotish the belief that after x no. of years, the planet turns direct does not exist.....For that matter, even in Western astrology, the principle - if I am not wrong - is different from what you have suggested in your post..... That is, if a planet went direct " X " days after birth (it also works in the reverse; check the date from which the planet actually turned retrograde looking back a few days/ months from date of birth), it does not behave like a " direct " planet after " x " no. of years (where no. of days before it turns direct = no. of years); rather, the xth year will prove to be very significant in some way connected with the significations of the planet. I have seen it working in real cases also. I hope this clarifies matters. Regarding the suggestion of book writing, I am also very much interested in writing one on Psychological applications of Astrology. For that I must get good publishers approaching me with offers (I personally hate red-tape and canvassing; I am a free-bird by nature and will happily disseminate what little knowledge I have gathered to the really curious and interested souls rather than bargain with hard-nosed business sharks. But, if a really interested samaritan approaches me, I will be most glad to do the needful) Anyway, thanks for the suggestion and the respect and regards you seem to have for my knowledge. I am honoured by such sincere appraisals from enthusiasts like you and this is the best award and recognition that is closest to my heart. I am sure one day I will pen a good book as you have suggested by God's Grace. As of now, I am trying to use astro-psychological principles in practical applications such as organizational role planning using astrology, soft skills training methodologies based on one's horoscope, etc. I am doing this on an individual basis to clients who approach me for skills training/ counselling/ career role planning. I will be most happy if some corporate organization is willing to experiment with all these. The knowledge gained from such experiments will be give additional valuable inputs to such a psychological perspective on astrology. Let us see what God Wills..... Blessed be. Guest guest
I think this is 'progression' as utilized in western astrology, right? The interesting thing is that in tropical astrology, there is a timing system that is based on a degree a year progression, in other words 120 degrees in 120 years, natal positions progressed uniformly at the rate of a degree a year! In Jyotish, also there is a 120 degree progression in 120 year that is used. It is called Vimshottari dasha which is based on progressing the natal moon through 120 degrees in 120 degrees! The difference from tropical is that the moon is not considered to progress through each degree at a uniform rate, but at varying rates! Starting with aries zero (sidereal), moon progresses through the first 13d20m in 7 years, the next 13d20m in six years, the next similar segment in 10 years ... and so on! Guest guest
Pandit Dakshinamoorthiji, Thanks for your kind reply. I am sure everyone here will agree the appreciation is more than well deserved by you and that your knowledge has benefited many. Lord works in mysterious ways and if it His will it surely can happen. When I get to some better place in life where I can help in these kind of ventures I would surely do it. As for the progression of the retrogression from a tropical point of view, once some tropical-vedic astrologer had mentioned some comment on a sidereal board. They are the so called western sidereal astrologers, who use a combination of tropical and vedic techniques but with a sidereal chart. They are far and few but gaining more 'converts' with passing time. I will have to search it again, if I find it I will post it here. Wishing you and all others a very auspicious Ramnavami. Guest guest
Pandit Dakshinamoorthiji, Indeed it is very valuable information you provided. Is it possible to tell us something about other planets also , Saturn /Venus Read somewhere that if Venus is in retro mode then it is belived that there were some issues in love life (wife)of the person in the past life Similarly for Saturn in retro mode makes person Lazy , Specially when it is in Lagana , the person becomes very impatient. the past reference can be taken as , the person was abusive ruler , misused his power in the his previous birth Please share Regards Vivek --- theblisswithin <theblisswithin wrote: > Pandit Dakshinamoorthiji, > Thanks for your kind reply.
