Guest guest
OHM NAMO NARAAYENAAYE Dear list member, You have presented your thoughts about the way Jyotish is applied. Basically it is only Brahma who knows exactly what is going to happen. Of course Brahma is not interested what will happen, because that would mean that there is something that is separated from Him which can be known. But Brahma is not like that, it is only we human beings that are eagerly striving in coming to know what is separated by something. And this viewpoint is called Maya. So when you only look from the prospective of the human as he is now, we have to rely upon the mind who is presenting the split viewpoint in existence. And because all that is known by the mind is in the passed, and not from the realm of what is called the NOW, because the mind cannot know what is in the now, we do remember what has been told by the sages and what is written down in the scriptures. So in a way we are copying what has been told by the sages. The keenness in this is that what has been told in the scriptures is in relation with the position of the Planets which are moving in a regular way, and this regularity is nothing but what has to be translated and expressed by the astrologer. But still this is an attempt to cover the whole Existence which basically is what we are, Brahma. Doubt is an expression that is the opposite of faith. (again mind work) When Rahu is in 5th House, then there can be confusion because Rahu is a natural unseen Planet and poisons, and doubts that god is there. Root cause is doubt; in what is taught to you and in what you do. Doubt leads to confusion. So if you have to use your mind, and what else are we using, it needs an order that is capable of understanding and ordening the amount of divisions and possiblities so that the Oness is seen. So lets start with Jyotish to order the mind. Job vedic astrology: wisdomcompassion: Wed, 28 Feb 2007 08:31:34 +0000[vedic astrology] is jyotish a true science (a layman's doubt) dear members and gurujisi have been reading jyotish for some time, and in past as well i believd in it quite fairly, but seeing the postings on these pages and reading it and otherwise observing the field, i have started doubting it because those people who are experts have so different opinions, they are mostly adding information to other experts, putting forth different arguments, and have different opinions on the basis of different individual astrological experiences. and there are so many system of predicting and on web i see people developing new systems, and making research on the basis of available kundli (which means we are fitting life events of people according to the grahas in kundlis, whereas the purpose of jyostish is to predict life events!!)another thing is that i feel the prediction is based on the psychology of the person predicting, if i put forth a kundli saying about good events, asrologers start finding good points, that is good points are exaggerated and bad points are ignored, but if i put forth a kundli(of a middle class average person) and state bad events, astrologers start seeing the kundli from negative perspective. if astrology is so opinion based then the degree of accuracy is considerably unreliable. for me it is shocking because me and some other people are making some of the important decisions on the basis of patrika (marriage, job etc. are very important decisions indeed!) if all combinations of a particular bhav are pointing towards one thing (good or bad) then only reliable prediction can be based otherwise everything becomes opinion based.i hope my doubts be clarified by esteemed members and astrologers. I M NOT SAYING THAT I DONT BELIEVE IN IT, BUT I HAVE BEGUN TO DOUBT THE ACCURACY OF THE PREDICTIONS and also the basis. i hope my doubts would be clarified, i m novice and hope the experts would give me right direction. I HOPE THIS WOULD BE TAKEN IN THE RIGHT SPIRIT TO CLEAR THE DOUBTS OF GENERAL PUBLIC.regards _______________ Probeer Live.com: je eigen snelle startpagina met alles wat jij belangrijk vindt op één plek. http://www.live.com/getstarted
Guest guest
The same thing applies to any science- Physics(scientists argued for 100s years of matter was wave or particle), biology(disagreement on mechanics of evolution), quantum mechanics vs string theorists, Bing bang vs Constant Universe vs Many worlds theory......... I could go on & on & on. So arent these sciences as well?
Guest guest
Jyotish Astrology is called Jyotish , which means " science of light. " Astrology is the science of understanding the subtle influences that come to us from the universe. These influences are a reflection of the law of karma. Here, both fate and free will are at play. Fate means that our present circumstances are a result of our actions from previous lives. The external events of our lives are ruled by past karma - over this we have little control. Free will means that our future is shaped by our actions in the present. Astrology can help us to understand how to optimize our potential so our lives develop according to our true destiny. It gives us an idea of the trends and periods of life - when to act and when not .It helps us to understand our weaknesses, where we may need to put extra attention in order to attain fullness in our lives. It offers practical remedial measures that can help to alleviate areas of difficulty in the chart. Astrology holds that spiritual practices help to minimize the effects of karma. The main remedial measures of Astrology are also spiritual and consist of rituals, mantras and meditation. Propitiation of the planets through rituals and other prescribed measures is an integral part of Astrology. Each planet has a deity, whose name can be chanted, and associated articles, which can be offered in worship or given in charity. The Science of the Stars Astrology is the study of the planets' position and direction relative to a certain celestial body [either the Sun (heliocentric astrology) or the Earth (geocentric astrology)] and its potential influence on a natural organism [a single being, or a population (such as a town, country, continent, etc.,]. Astrology uses a birth chart to map the positions of the planets relative to the location and moment of birth. The interpretation of the chart incorporates the angular relationships between the planets and the signs of the zodiac, the area of the chart in which they fall and other symbolic indicators to examine the different experiences and psychology of the individual. For centuries, astrologers have theorized that the positioning and movement of the heavenly bodies can have enormous consequences for a person. Today, they use that information to counsel individuals about emotional, professional or health-related problems. The " science of the celestial bodies, " Astrology may be considered to have been the first true science, and is a sort of transcendental metaphysics. A form of divination based on the ancient adage, " As above, so below. " An Astrologer uses planetary positions and alignments at the time of one's birth to help foretell the future and to evaluate one's potential strengths and weaknesses. Astrology in the hands of a genuinely knowledgeable and experienced person can provide very good, clear and precise guidance as well as providing forewarning for potential pitfalls. An ancient oracle and system based on the belief that planetary, zodiac/constellation cycles influence human and earthly affairs. Modern astrologers will find meaning and purpose in the stars. They recognize the astrological influences on historical events and they have refined their interpretation of individual behavior. The main remedies offered by Jyotish for bringing balance into life involve the wearing of gemstones, performance of pujas (sacred rituals designed to remove harmful forces or enhance positive forces), and performance of personal spiritual practices. vedic astrology , " Shantnu " <shanracer wrote: > > The same thing applies to any science- Physics(scientists argued for > 100s years of matter was wave or particle), biology(disagreement on > mechanics of evolution), quantum mechanics vs string theorists, Bing > bang vs Constant Universe vs Many worlds theory......... > > I could go on & on & on.
