Dear Kishore,

Thanks for your mail.

I appreciate your point of view particularly about individual Dharma vis-a-vis

community Dharma

However, the point I wish to convey was that we have lost touch with our

roots. We are only clinging onto rituals without understanding the meaning behind

them

With the spate of terrorist attacks particularly in

religious places,we can illafford to keep mum on the

situation (when an individual is not safe at his place of

worship,it is a sad state of affairs indeed) !!

Though the need of the hour is to be agressive with regard to Hinduism, one

most not get carried away by the

politicians who are the real culprits fomenting this

communalism/terrorism !!

Hope I got my point across to you

Regards,

aavesh

Dear Aavesh,

I laud your comments but yet you are making the same mistake all of us

making. Hindusim is not about being inclusive or being Satvic. It is being

a human being and doing your ordained duty.

If you are a brahmin and want to take up studies and preception, no doubt

you ought to be satvic. But if you are a kshtriya, then which duty ordains

to be a satvic? in fact, you should be as rajasic as possible.

Similarly, a person who is involved in the menial work should be more

tamasic to cultivate obedience and discipline? (Will any boss mark a

technical circular to his substaff??)

These are not my words. The param pujya Sankaracharya of Kanchi of yester

years, Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswathi has advised Gandhiji against Ahimsa

movement. The individual Dharma is

different from Community dharma. As a community, we can not become satvic

soft puppets.

Hope you will not mistake me.

Kishore patnaik
