Guest guest
To All Members: In Shrimad Bhagavatam, there is a story of a king who turned into huge lizard due to a negative karma incurred relating to giving cows or property to brahmins. There are several points covered in this story. To make the story short, Krishna came to rescue the lizard from a deep well in which it was imprisoned. He touched the lizard with his left hand, and instantaneously the lizard turned into a brilliant and beautiful demigod, dressed in dazzling clothes and shining gold helmet. What's the jyotish point? The lizard represents the shackles of the mind when it becomes attached to the phenomenal world, or material things. Specifically, the conjunction of the Moon with Ketu and Rahu can affect the perception of the mind, and can cause aberration to one's behaviour as in depression, obsession and other phobias. We should also note that Rahu and Ketu are karakas for rodents, reptiles and multi-legged creatures, such as insects. So, if the mind is cleared from these influences, the person can attain his true status as a demigod or divine being. Further, this story appears to state that no matter what negative influences the rashi chart may be subjected to, there is always a solution for improvement. Regards, John R. Guest guest
Namaste Raja and all, Thank you for your feedback of my past analysis. Also, the story we have discussed appears simple but it actually has many hidden meanings. These are: 1. Krishna touched the lizard with his left hand. From the house of the Guru, the 9th house, the left hand is the 11th from the 9th house or the seventh house. The 11th and seventh houses are houses of desire. Therefore, it was Krishna's desire to grant the king freedom, which was the king's long time wish as well after being imprisoned in a lizard's body for eons of time. 2. In practical terms, we can be cured from our inner struggles and phobias through our spouse or partners, colleagues. All of these are represented by the 7th house. 3. Similarly, we can be cured of mental derangement by our close friends, the 11th house. 4. Further, we can attain freedom of mind and body through our own efforts, the third house. 5. Lastly, we can see that these solutions all refer to the houses of desire (3,7,and 11). Through this simple story, we can appreciate the wisdom of Shrimad Bhagavatam.
