AGES OF PLANETS- There are three types of age, maturation, personification and duration. The maturation age for the planets are. The Sun-22, The Moon- 24,Mars-28,Mercury-32, Jupiter-16,Venus-25, Saturn -36, Rahu and Ketu (The Nodes)-48 Personified individual age - Sun is a mature person of 50, Moon is an old person of 70, Mars is a child below school age (Young), Mercury is a youth. Venus is a teenager of 16. Jupiter is a young adult of 30, Saturn ,Rahu,Ketu represent old person of 100. Age durations ruled by Planets are- The Sun -23 to 41 The Moon - 0-4 Mars- 42 to 56 Mercury - 5 to 14 Jupiter -57 to 68 Venus 15-22 Saturn,Rahu and Ketu -69 to 108 (How to apply above info. for Maturation) Example-Those with Saturn strong in Ascendant, would find their lives mature in some ways by age of 36. The matters in which maturity would be there would be connected by Saturn in the horoscope. Means if mother in his chart is represented by Saturn then the natives relationship with his/her mother would mature by age 36. And suppose Jupiter is similiarly placed then matters represented by Jupiter would mature by age 16. Whether the results would be positive or negative ,would depend on the position of planet, whether well placed or afflicted. (How to apply above info for Personification) Should not be applied literally. Saturn would represent old people and not people of age 100. Jupiter- anyone in prime of life, Sun- a mature person of middle age, etc. This info is used both in natal and horary astrology. Could Moon in the 8th house or a malefic Moon in Sagittarius lagna (8th lord being moon) be a possibility? Moon in 8th or Moon in 1st as the 8th Lord, if weak and aspected by Venus or Saturn may cause such afflictions and perversions. If Saturn, Moon combination connects to houses 7th,8th or 12th and also the signs Libra and Scorpio, then the native would not be contended with a single person, in sex, but may have secret sex and also at times sex with animals, or animal type sex.. So the thought of " whether it works or not in real practice " does not come in my mind. If at all I look at the utterances of a certain Sage, and do not find it in conformity, with the apparent observations, I would rather search some deficiency of understanding the subject in myself. Though there may be some differences in the various sages in their expositions, so what ? Even our elders and Uncles have theirs. This is a part of Life. The common factor is that they would all bless us as a Elder. So I choose whatever suits me. What are the ages this Sages has mentioned ? And what are Your own views on the same ? You have not given the relevant shloka and the ages what this Sage mentions in his treatise, but You should find it in the Chapter II, Panchsiddantadhyaya. The Age factor is not meant to be looked into in solitary assessment but in combined set of other analytical factors. therefore I never gave it a serious study as such, in predence because yet I have to study the other territories well, which go more into predictive base and content. This would be a small part of the whole, just to see the age limiting the native to a certain continuous occurrence in his life, which has to be observed to predict, when it would end. We normally do not use the ages of planets, more than this. My name is Gaurav Kapur and I am one of the oldest member of this group since its inception when it was started by Ben Collins & my guruji Sh K.N. Rao and was called Jyotish List. I normally dont write on the list and read only few posts if I get sometime. More or less I am a sleeping member I read your post on ages of planets. You have infact brought out a very interesting topic which is used as thumb rules as we call them by age old astrologers and pandits who dont go into details of a chart and just predict by seeing the rasi chakra. I do have tried these thumbrules out and they do work most of the time. I have only applied them for Bhagya uday i.e. just studied them on 9th house. Infact if i apply this principle on my own chart this is how it goes. My 9th house is makar and has 3 planets posted in it Merc, Moon & Mars. Now according to this theory these planets and Sat being 9th L would work in there ages. For me I started earning from 24th yr (Moon) got a better break in 28th (Mars) my career got a great jump in 32nd (merc). Now i still have 2 more yrs to go for saturn time to come. I have seen some charts in which the Jatak started earning as early as 16 yrs because Jupiter was posted there. But again these should be not been in isolation but with the dasha which is going. What is your observation with this? Good to have you writing here in response to the message I posted.These responses show that my efforts are not wasted, I normally take up those topics which eventually lead to better predictive skills, and am averse to Non-predictive astro discussions. In today's time, one may find lot of discussions on Shlokas, rules and very many complicated astrological discussions, on Forums or otherwise. I personally believe that a simple explanation is the best explanation, and a simple approach is the best one. The traditional pundits, as you rightly said, had a mastery in these. Unfortunately or not, cant say , but most of us are city bred, well educated and get satisfied only after a highly technical discussion on the various factors, which to me is not digestible. But that's my view which may certainly not meet consensus. The fact remains, still persistent even today, that the age old pundits can, in majority of the times, predict much better, then those who involve themselves in complicated discussions, yet come out with nothing solid or of weight. But of course these cannot be denied, and rightly have to be a integral part of the astrology curriculum, because some one also has to take up the scientific study in the norms required to be established in the present world which approves solid, logic,scientific and analytical base . I find these thumb rules working more than often, if one knows to apply them, and identify the karaktatwa of the planets vis a vis the houses of the individual Horoscope. I have never tried planets in conjuction with 9th lord. Yes but planets aspecting 9th house do play an important role. Also Indu Lagna lord if associated with ninth lord also plays an important role in Bhagya Uday so you should try it also. I have always seen that if Indu Lagna or its lord comes in double transit of Jup & Sat then that yr comes out to be happening. But i do consider Brighu aspects i.e. if a planet is retrograde then do consider its aspect from prevous rasi. And for calculation of indu lagna i always take 9th from lagna and Moon and that always direct. This is what we have learnt and in experince this works. Infact this is what is explained also by Shri Shesaydri Iyer in his book New Techniques of Predictions. And he is one of the best authority on this technique though this book is now out of print. what do u follow? You might be using a different method. But this works for me. I also use Brighu aspects but i take them in transit only as taught to me by my guruji. So i have never used them in Natal positions but in transits they work for me. Did u try the ages of planets for 9th house. Let me know wht results you got. What is ur experince with Jup/Ven Ven/jup periods. Because Parashar has always cautioned for these periods. Guest guest Posted September 7, 2007 Report Share Posted September 7, 2007 Hare ramakrishna, respected gaurav ji , Yes chara dasa i rarely use as i made it a point to use vimshottary from moon and moon only and see how a chart is unfolding in frnt od u .since i use south indian some nadi principle to see a chart ,again Vim dasa form Moon only used by any nadi masters .And still i hav a guru who knows only local dailect and a sidha follower ,so i hav to make up time to meet him and learn and he uses the laungage which is not even my mother tounge And i when using chara dasa i uses sri K N raos chara dasa and sees . Regrding chara karaka now this methods confuse me But some rao ji is techniqs are amazing and giving results esp karakamsa lagna and some calculation of dasas . Till i am not matured enough to say which one is more working. I will see aging of planets and let u know ,my 9th lord is merc sinc capricon lagna and jupiter and venus in 3rd pisces was aspecting 9th house ,i will say i started earning from very young age and it reached very peak on 27 to 30 and now after this maturity of merc ,the earning is limited to sustaining only and now i stopped my business also. And dasa of venus running and waiting for jup period ,also Rao ji warned sani ,venus periods also. So may be one day i can tell u real life accounts of that .
