Guest guest
Dear Sunil ji, The Vishwa Vijay panchang, the most prestigious panchang around Delhi and Punjab, mentions Ajaa ekadashi on September 7th. It also mentions that both 'smaart' and 'vaishnav' should fast on the same day. 'smaart' are those who go by 'smriti' and 'vaishnav' are those who have been initiated and have taken the 'mantra' and 'kanthi'. Mostly common men like us are 'smaart'. Normally 'smaart' and the 'Vaishnav' fast on different days. with regards, RP Singh , " jjnet2000_in " <jjnet2000_in wrote: > > OM Datta Guru > > I am aware of these descripancies hence i follow the Kalnirnay Panchang > which mentions Aja Ekadashi & also Ramans mag which also mentions Aja > Ekadashi. > I am aware that the post copied from the Iskon site refers to Bhadrapad > month but I have asked some people and they said not to worry about the > month controversy just do Ekadashi Vrata by fasting, results will surely > come & to pray to Ekadashi Devi which governs the ekadashi > > So i try to keep it simple > best > SJ > > > > In South India it is still Sravana massam. > > So in this post the ekadasi is said to be in the dark fortnight of > badrapada > > which would be the first fortnight in north india, but in ahdra, > karnataka, > > gujarat, maharastra it is the last part of sravana or the dark > fortnight of > > sravana. > > In those states month starts after amavasya but in UP it starts after > > purnima. > > How then do we know which ekadashi is which? > > Mandakini > > - > > " Sunil John " jjnet2000_in@ > > " Jyotish Group " ; " Sunil John " > > suniljohn_2002@; " vedic astrology list " > > vedic astrology ; " Sunil John " suniljohn10@ > > Tuesday, September 04, 2007 3:45 AM > > Fasting Aja Ekadashi -7Sept- Deliverance from > Debts > > > > > > > > > > > > Aja - Annada Ekadasii > > > > from Brahma-vaivarta Puran > > > > > > On September 7th, 2007 (as per Kalnirnay Panchang) > > > > > > > > > > > > > > (Special: This Vrata ensures Deliverance from Debts) > > > > > > > > > > Sri Yudhisthira Maharaja said, " Oh Janardana, > > protector of all living entities, please tell me the name of the > Ekadasi > > that > > occurs during the dark fortnight of the month of Bhadrapada > > (August-September).
