Guest guest
Members, in my experience such blanket ban may not be the real thing people who have rahu well placed it can give good results say some1 having rahu in 5th can HACK a software or web site well or a thief can make entry witha false key and escape with no trace. but for people with rahu in 6/8/12 it is sure a bane nothing works intime, may even loose something, works be delayed etc so they need to chose the non rahu kalams it is always based on local sun-rise assuming it is 6 am on Monday it is 7.30-9.0 a, if it is 5.40 then will be 7.10-8..40 am ifSR is 6.45 am then will be 8.15to 9.45 am and so on there is a money spinning seva done during rahu kalam esp Tue at 3-4.30pmand fri 10.30-12 noon there is no scriptural basis for this but when we hindus are not regular temple goers like the christian, muslim brothers thus any activity that keeps us connected with our deities is a good one best wishes On 8/12/07, Bhaskar <bhaskar_jyotish wrote: > > Rahu Kalam - Good for what ? > > Dear Friends, > > This moment Rahu Kalam is on. > Common Knowledge tells us that no auspicious work > should be commenced in this period., > neither any journey commenced. > > 1) But then what are the activities which can be > done in this period ? > > 2) How is this period for a person running > Rahu dasha , Maha or antar ? > > 3) Pooja is an auspicious activity. Guest guest
Shri Prashantji, Thank You. The more inputs we receive from more members, the more we get to learn about the various views about any subject. Yes I too feel that rahu kalam may not be bad for all, and good for a few, but the actual bifurcation has to be seen, for whom it may be good and for whom it may not be so. In South I have heard some people taking a Nimbu (Lemon),a crushed one, and lighting a lamp in it............... ??? in the period of Rahu kalam. I know one person who is doing this regularly in South, but never was much interested to ask him why. Next time I will certainly ask him the meaning of this. I am also told that since it is not a good kalam for the creative activities, one should refrain from these, and do pooja instead. Your point is valid, since we Hindus do not have any set standard like Friday Namaaz or Sunday mass, we should at least adhere to some minimum discipline to have a habit in the day for extra pooja., apart from the morning one, which is standard in all homes. regards, Bhaskar. , " astro desk " <astro.prashantkumar wrote: > > Members, > > in my experience > > such blanket ban may not be the real thing > > people who have rahu well placed it can give good results > > say some1 having rahu in 5th can HACK a software or web site well or a thief > can make entry witha false key and escape with no trace. > > but for people with rahu in 6/8/12 it is sure a bane nothing works intime, > may even loose something, works be delayed etc so they need to chose the non > rahu kalams > > it is always based on local sun-rise assuming it is 6 am on Monday it is > 7.30-9.0 a, > if it is 5.40 then will be 7.10-8..40 am ifSR is 6.45 am then will be 8.15to > 9.45 am and so on > > > there is a money spinning seva done during rahu kalam esp Tue at > 3-4.30pmand fri > 10.30-12 noon there is no scriptural basis for this but when we hindus are > not regular temple goers like the christian, muslim brothers thus any > activity that keeps us connected with our deities is a good one > > best wishes > > On 8/12/07, Bhaskar <bhaskar_jyotish wrote: > > > > Rahu Kalam - Good for what ? > > > > Dear Friends, > > > > This moment Rahu Kalam is on. > > Common Knowledge tells us that no auspicious work > > should be commenced in this period., > > neither any journey commenced. > > > > 1) But then what are the activities which can be > > done in this period ? > > > > 2) How is this period for a person running > > Rahu dasha , Maha or antar ? > > > > 3) Pooja is an auspicious activity. Guest guest
Hare ramakrishna, respected bhaskarji , Pranamas and namaskar. First ,let me tell u my heart felt thanks for all supoort and suggestions and advise u hav given to me from time to time tru personal interactions or group activities . Now we will discuss the topic brought by you ,even though i know that u know it but u wanted to hear differrent opinions other than what u know . Rahu kalam is 1/8th part of dina mana (duration of day ) and its always taken after sanis yama ( 1/8th part).so sani s day -saturday its happening in morning hours and sunday its last hours approx it will be 1.5 hrs more or less depend on duration of day and its decided by local sun rise and sun set . This belief is more in tamil nadu and kerala and with best of my knowledge, no good activities are not starting in kerala and south india in generaly, during the rahu kalam,Also it says during time of prashna while seeing the quality of kalam (time ) we see if the querient is come in rahu kalam for query .As in kerala prashna some pundits they dont use udaya lagna much as a lagna covers almost 2 hours and may be 5 people may come in same lagna and each one will ask so many questions and arrive lagna by kavadi kriya ( sea shells) and this rahu kalam and all other things required for the days they calculate and kept ready handy early morning it self .As we observe some 30 kinds of muhurtha doshams in prashna if we r doing elaborately But tamil classicals like nadi i hav seen reference that rahu kala shud be avoided when a king start any project for the country ,like making a road or tank for people ( community projects ---as all people are the users or beneficiaries ). And also in panchanga we can see a word used nithya yogi ---means yogi planet at the day u born .It decided by suns and moons point together with a fixed star added to it .So the point arrive thus we take its nakshatra lord as birth yogi for the day. Some has rahu as planet controls nithya yogi --j hora --shows it . For eg --in your chart,bhaskarji- u born in brahma nama nithya yoga ,planet controls it is Mars >And the mars is with rahu ,so i think ( will appreciate any feed back now or after u done some testing ) so as all chayya grahas rahu capture and gives the effect of day yogi in your chart and individualy rahu kalam cannot affect u ,its u hav to test it by making a table for rahu kalam for one month and watching wats happening in rahu kalam and do for some months ,so events which is happening if its good ,then u dont need to worry .This astrologers cannot do it ,themselves . so rahu kalam is more shud be observed only when the communal projects like inaugaration of a bridge or a big project >individual charts will decide the quality of rahu kaalam in their own way as it need not be observed if this points qualify . Evn the most dreaded kala sarpa yoga also cannot take its full venom if some ones day yogi is rahu unaspected and good or well placed. The table we can calculate ourself for rahu kala ( unless very localised panchangas r availbale ) sundays ---8th part of days duration monday ---2nd tuesday --7th wednesday--5th thursday-6th friday-4th saturday-3rd part any body can do by seeing the local sun rise and sunset and see totl hours and divide it by 8 and multiply by days number part --thats is the part of rahu kalam in that day its we can take like durations of day divide it by 8 and multiply by the part concerned by reducing one number ,so we get begining and add 1/8 th part of day with it we get end of rahu kalam. regrds sunil nair om shreem mahalaxmai namah. , " Bhaskar " <bhaskar_jyotish wrote: > > Shri Prashantji, > > Thank You. > The more inputs we receive from more members, > the more we get to learn > about the various views about any subject. > Yes I too feel that rahu kalam may > not be bad for all, and good for a few, > but the actual bifurcation has to be seen, > for whom it may be good and for whom > it may not be so. > > In South I have heard some people taking > a Nimbu (Lemon),a crushed one, and lighting > a lamp in it............... ??? > in the period of Rahu kalam. > I know one person who is doing this > regularly in South, but never was much > interested to ask him why.
