Dear Tarun,

Nameste, You wrote,

" just a small question i had in my mind from many days. that what was need in

Jemini's mind, so that he made his own

principles instead of following parashara blindly. "

I am not a scholar but was attracted to some part of discussion..

May i say,something?

Parashar was a rsi who for coming generations gave a treatise called BPHS.

The knowledge of constellation was too common in his time, now it is lost, and we

are left with compilation handed over through many people.

Jamini was also a rsi of great yore.He did not wrote a treatise for masses

interested in learning Jyotish. He on the contrary codified Jyotish concepts in

sutra form, with a puropse to be committed to memory, rich in meaning. As it is

true No sutra literature can be understood correctly without the grace of living

guru in a parampra.Keys are communicated by gurumukh and are not written.

This guards knowledge from misuse. My little understanding of subject tells me

jaimini Sutras are universal in application.

His principlas are sure shot if correctly understood and applied.BTW At deeper

level parashar treatise uses same concepts as are taught by Jaimini later.Simply

put jaimini and parashar apperas different but they are one and same.It may

appear strange, but it is so.

Hope ,My mail is not unwelcome but search provoking.

With best wishes.

Dear Chandrashekhar ji,

Thanks for your mail and your views.

no but i was in a doubt that , since Jemini has very much different

views. (as wht i have heard / read)

that means he feels that parashara principles had bug in it. So he

presented his own views ..

or he was one of those only who translate Parashara.

Warm Regards,

Yes Sir. I agree. No Guru and Shishya can be different.

Their source and End has to be the same, though the

style of walking or the ways may be different or appear

different.

best wishes,

Bhaskar.

Dear Tarun,

You are nearly right. If we desire to put little more accurately Rsi

parashar followed well known pattern of Purans. What Jaimini knew

was already known to all in there parampara Parashar was no

exception, He was before Jaimini But there composition were aimed at

blessing the masses and students respectively,in two different modes

at different times.

Sutra literature has different format.Parashar did not use it.Padma

puran gives definition what is sutra literature.

" people , learned in sutra literature, say that the sutra should be

concise and unambiguous, give the essence of the argument on a topic

but at the same time deal with all aspects of the question,be free

from repetition and faultless.

Jaimini updesh is superb to this definition.

with regards.

Dear Srivastava ji,

Definately, all have covered different areas of life in terms of

astrology.

As medical astrology is a very different subject other than normal

chart readings.

Medical astrology can decide the life and can save life of the person.

Thanks again for your mail and provinding me your views about Jemini

and Parashara.

Warm Regards,

Tarun
