Guest guest
Dear Shri Prafullaji, I have always believed in commonsense applied with the astrological rules given to us, and do not believe in just theory or finding references, for which there is no end to literature available in form of shlokas and commentaries, in India. These rules cannot be applied individually at face, and most of them have to be applied concurrently, and a proper mix has to be made for assessment. In fact the more charts a astrologer observes, the more utility of certain rules fall in place. We know that we have to assess any chart traditionally, from 3 approaches to confirm certain discrepancies, or striking features. Viz. The Janma Lagna, The Chandra Lagna and the Surya Lagna. Here only the actual Janma Lagna meets the horiszon , at the time of birth. Do the other 2 Lagnas meet at the horizon ? No . Is it possible ? No. (Unless Amavasya in Lagna). Yet we see the aspects, placement from the other 2 charts, which are imaginary positions if we treat the 2 points Sun and moon as Lagna. (Here one may argue that the longitudanal distance remains same for the planets in all 3 Lagnas, for such people I have to write another article, not today)Why do we treat them as Lagna ? Because they are important points. If the Lordships of the Lagna, the placements, aspects, can be checked from these two points viz.Sun and Moon as imaginary Lagnas, then why not ? From navamsha ? Same way for Navamsha. Uptil now all have accepted that the amsa of the Lagna exists. There is a dispute as regards the Rasi Chakra to be seen for the amsa or what ? But that is meaningless. Because the amsa itself means a part of the whole and not the whole (ansha or amsha ) (Like ansh of the parmatma-atma) (When we talk of a particular atma gone to Swarga- heavens we mean a certain person has passed away and not the parmatma) So mandatorily the Navamsha Chakra/Chart/position has to be seen and not the Rashi chart for the amsas. The dispositor sitting in which sign in rashi, is again a seperate matter. These are various approaches of prognostication. Well now coming back to our subject matter. The Navamsha chart is considered to be the 2nd important chart by the Indian astrologers of South, who have produced the worlds greatest astrologers. We have also read in the texts that a planet in a debilated position in the Rasi Chart if gets exaltation in the Navamsha chart, or if a planet sitting in a dushtsthana gains kendra position in the Navamsha chart, then the debilitation or the evil effects of the concerned planet gets cancelled or diminished to a great extent. its vice-versa for the exalted planets but debilitated in the Navamsha chart. Now what is the underlying principle behind these observations in all the commentaries we read ? Certainly the debilated planet in Rasi chakra after gaining an amsha owned by a Great benefic to it, has been alloted position in the navamsha chart. Is it not ? Sun in Libra 23.20 degrees is transferred to Sun in Aries in Navamsha. And they say that the Sun will now no more be malefic, as it was in the Rasi chart., but has now gained exaltation, so it will do good. Now this good is with reference to the Sun being transferred to the Raashi Aries. We also see that Vargottama Navamsha, would again make the Lagna more strong. All this is with reference to the change witnessed in Navamsha chart and not to the Rashi chart.. In same way a exalted planet getting a debilitated position in navamsha would spoil its debilitation. Why ? Because now it has reached its enemy sign amsa ? When friendship, enmity , exaltation, debilitation, is practiced and changeable through the Navamsha chart, with reference to the Lordships of other planets, then WHY ? cant we see ? the aspects of these Lordships too ? in the Navamsha chart ? That is what common sense says. If Sun is debilated in Lagna chart, and gets exalted in the navamsha chart, and the Planet Mars is aspecting this exalted position of Sun , in the navamsha chart, would not the exaltation of the Sun have a much superior quality now ? Though I am a Nakshatra Padhaty astrologer, and observe much smaller divisions for predictions, but in absence of precesion data or want of computerized chart in KP ayanamsha, when I sit down to judge the charts with the traditional Khokha Kundli and the Navamsha chart, I always see the aspects too in the Navamsha Chart, I have no shame in saying this. Ultimately it is the prediction, which matters to the querent, and not my knowledge of Shastras, Shlokas or sanskrit. When we talk of profession from the 10th Navamsha Lord. Wont we have to see the Lordship of the sign too, where the 10th navamsha Lord is placed in ? If it is Venus and placed in taurus sign, it may give a profession related to beauty parlour, or if sitting in Mars sign, it may give profession related to Automobiles -showroom, or if in Libra then Film Industry,Entertainment. Is it not ? I conclude that for me , I do take into account aspects even in the Navamsha chart, to see the strength of the planets posited therein. Sorry for the long mail, its too simple to be digested for the wise astrologers, as I have made no reference to any big names, or Shastras or cited shlokas. Someone may call me a road side astrologer, I do not mind, as long as my rules and techniques work for me, to satisfy most of those who come to me, if not all. Hope this may help someone somewhere. regards, Bhaskar.
