Guest guest
A Catechism of Astrology, by BV Raman. Question No, 70- Why si the Navamsha Chakra considered as being of equal importance to Rasi in matter of prediction ? Answer by BV Raman- In rasi Chakra, planets are placed according to their astronomical positions, in the Zodiac. In the Navamsha chakra, which is considered to be second in importance only to the Rasi chakra, the planets are arranged according to the subdivisions in which they are found and named in order of signs beginning from Aries. This is familiar to all students. Beyond giving the positions of the planets and Lagna correct to 3 1/4 degrees, an INDEPENDENT CHART IS PREPARED , and considered ALONGWITH RASI kUNDALI. No doubt the positions in the Navamsha Chart are imaginary if their relative positions are alone taken into account. But we have to proceed on the assumption that the seers who propounded the science of astrology knew more about it then we do. They found that with astronomical accuracy, symbolism also played a great part, and attributed equal importance to both. The Rasi Kundali is an astronomical chart and Navamsha Chakra is a symbolical chart. Question No. 83- In predictions, combinations, aspects and positions etc. of Amsa, which are imaginary factors, are also given consideration like Rasi ( which is actual). Why ? Answer- This is usually a stubling block for everybody in the beginning of the study of astrology, but easily solved, as one progresses in the study. Question No. 2 From which Bhava or Planet can the place or direction of one's livelihood be ascertained? Answer- Ordinarily the 10th Bhava is the one that denotes........................ The lord of the 10th Bhava is in some Navamsha. The lord of that Amsa is one of the planets that has major significance........................................................ Hope the above brings to end some of the contemplations on the importance of navamsha and also whether the amsas of the other Planets be seen, apart from the Lagna. Important- Vaman Shivram Aptes dictionary is good for those who do not have time to learn Sanskrit, but just wish to know the meaning of few Sanskrit words, of course only a fool would try to interpret a Sanskrit Shloka with meanings of words, but better than trying to hit the air with wild guesses. One should always seek the positive in alls actions, rather than look for any negatives in the person who is doing hard work to read such dictionaries and give the meanings wherever needed. It is better to contribute with substance than appear like a judge and criticise out of turn, is my advise to such people. learn to appreciate wherever it is deserved and due. criticising does not require any knowledge on the part of the person doing so, rather bring in inputs of substance for help to resolve issues. regards, Bhaskar.
