Vets and pet sellers say that of-late the demand for black dogs, especially Labrador and German Spitz, has increased following their importance in astrology and Vaastu. A Kanke Road-based pet dealer Manoj Mishra says according to Hindu mythology dogs are considered to be an incarnation of Bhairav. A pet dealer from the East Jail Road, Sanjay Raman, cites the example of an automobile service station owner who always keeps a black dog because of a malefic position of Saturn in his horoscope. “So far, seven of his black dogs have died and now he has kept a German Spitz. He believes his dogs sacrifice their lives when a calamity strikes him,” Raman said. A dog trainer-cum-dealer, B.P. Tiwari from Kishoreganj says the craze for black and brown dogs has increased in the past few years because of the increasing popularity of Vaastu. “It is believed that feeding a black dog on specified days is good for Saturn but the difficulty is finding a black dog on the specified day. As a result many people keep them as pets,” he said. A veterinary doctor Rameshwar Narayan Pandey says German Shephard, labrador and German Spitz are commonly available in black and are therefore most popular. Known astrologer and palmist, N.K. Bera, believes dogs have a great importance in astrology. People are advised to feed black dogs if their Saturn is weak while feeding white dogs cures their Venus. Bera, who is also the head of the Bengali department at Ranchi University, however, says: “I only ask people to feed them. In 1991 my daughter had a dream about a large white collie. It seemed such a powerful dream that I called a breeder and low and behold the only collie she had was white with a few brown spots. I took this as an " omen " and then had over 8 years of trying to live with a storm traumatized white collie . My whole family was in Shukra MahaDasa during this time. Not long after I entered Shukra mahadasa, we gave the collie away to a good kind woman who devoted herself to caring for her. I have always felt sorrow about not being able to handle the sweet dog's many many destructive issues.. Even tried a dog psychic! I find this article interesting as I have heard that animals often zap one's energy -- I had never heard of a thing regarding them as planetary remedies???? I will enumerate what I know in future mails maybe next week. There is also a silent member of this List, who used to feed Dogs daily and one Dog took the karma of this member on his own self and died due to this ,thus saving the member from the evil effects . How did the Member come to know that the Dog saved him ? The Members Guru told him so, within a day of the incident.Since this is a personal incident the member has told me on my telephonic talks with Him, and he may not put this on a public List. You would be amazed at the number of stray dogs who find them. Never has a stray dog found me and been at my door. One of these ladies had 13 stray dogs and many many other pets; like 7 rabbits, and iguana, birds and many stray cats. These ladies both have a disease that affects the central nervous system and are most of the time more preoccupied with caring for the pets than for themselves. Most of us want them to rid themselves of the pets so they can get some personal rest. But, now I am wondering if caring for the pets is acctually their karmic path towards health? Is there a planetary indicator that you can think of that especially shows such a thing of having animals as auspicious? Such a thing had happened with one of my nephews and it was revealed to their family by a strange astrologer who visited their home few days after. I firmly believe that dogs take the bad karmas of their owners and save them from some mishaps.My family is a great dog lover and we own 4 dogs.Recently ,I had to go for an emergency abdominal surgery. I noticed it later that before that 2 of my dogs were very ill, unable to move even. As I recovered , they also recoverd.Was it a conincedence or their effort to take my problems on them? WHO KNOWS?? This particular devotee has fed a dog with bread on a morning. Later when she went to have darshan of Baba he told her that his stomach is full becaz she fed him. She was perplexed as to when she fed Baba then the benvolent Baba reminded her of her feeding the dog. Even today we find dogs in Shirdi being looked after by the devotees.
