Youi have said, " What would one achieve if, say, I write my revolutionary theory on relativity in a chat group specializing in Bollywood movies or in a cookery !!!! " I am afraid my " mission " has been completely misunderstood! It is quite simple: To celebrate all our festivals and muhurtas as per the Vedas and Puranas. It concerns every Hindu and is not any special function for a particular class. Just one example will suffice: Pongal--cum-Makar-Sankranti is supposed to be a seasonal festival. But if Pongal is clubbed with Lahiri Makar Sankrnati, as is being done by " Vedic astrologers " , it means it has been going on advancing by one day every 72 years. Thus it must have coincided with Uttarayana viz. the Winter Solstice in 285 AD---the zero year of Lahiriwalas! Prior to that, say in about 1400 BCE, the period of the Vedanga Jyotisha, Lahiri-Pongal-cum-Lahiri-Makar-Sankranti was about twenty- four days (at the rate of one day for every seventy-two years for 1400+285=1685 years) before Uttarayana i.e. around the beginning of November in 1400 BCE as per the Julian calendar, if there could be any such calendar then! It means that Pongal would have been then exactly 24 days prior to the real Uttarayana as it is ahead these days! What type of a seasonal festival is it then? It is also a well known fact by now that over the last at least two centuries, (i.e. as soon as this nirayana mayhem was detected!) efforts were made to streamline Hindu calendar. This has been clarified amply by S B Dikshit in his Bharatiya Jyotisha Shastra. But the results were that they were back to square one, because of Jyotisha lobbies. In 1955 also, the same farce was enacted, thanks to N. C. Lahiri having inveigled himself in to the Saha Calendar Reform Committee. No research needs be done about such a simple fact that the real Vedic calendar is aligned to seasonal year and seasonal months. We have, therefore, only to get rid to Mesha, Vrisha etc. Rashis from our jargon. So long as we do not do that, there will always be Lahiri-Raman-Shakukntala-Devi-Sayana etc. confusion. And then papers will be written about precession in Sidhantas, when that has nothing to do with Vedic calendar! As such, we have to wean ourselves away from predictive gimmicks if we want to really re-align the Hindu calendar towards the shastras and geographial phenomena that it should be actually.
