Respected members of the forum,

Namaskar,

First of all I welcome to all new members who joined our forum for

vibrant discussion on astrology. They can find the direction of

discussion in this forum from msg no. 1 or file " Astrology a science

or myth " along with SOA_______ files in file section, other msgs.

 

More than eight months have passed since formation of this forum. So

many members have taken part and exchanged their valuable views. But

the contents of most of the msgs are not in proper direction, and

fulfilling the aim of the forum, whereas content of some msgs are

outstanding and worth preserving.

 

This aim of the forum is to analyze present status of astrology with

a view to find as to whether it is vedic, scientific as is claimed

and advertised by the astrologers not only in various forums but also

through media, book, magazine etc..

 

If it is vedic then members have to refer some reasons as to why it

is vedic. Because some members (specially Sh Kaul ji) has written so

much against this view hence supporter of Vedic astrology must come

forward from their silence.

 

If it is science then members have to support his stand as to how it

is science. For this we must know as to how every predictive

principle was formulated and is their any need to modify these

principles or every learner astrologer may continue with his whim and

devise some principles for his own use, without any substance. When

every system is quite against with another system.

 

Indians have deep rooted faith on sages and their wisdom but perhaps

1% members have ever studied any scripture except some magazine and

visiting some astrologer with their own stories as to how their

predictions came true.

 

Faith without study is blind faith. So with due regards to our sages

and their knowledge (because it is our heritage, hence we can neither

deny it nor disregard it), we have to find out as to how sign was

devised, what was the basic knowledge of our sages at the time of

formulating these principles and probable time, what sort of

procedure was adopted for formulating basic principles like sign,

sign lord, aspect, friendship, exalted, Vinshottary dasha, Rahu ketu

etc.

 

Now I am sharing some information for further analysis by the members

with their valuable observation.

 

Name of sign : It is believed by we Indians that sign were designed

by our sages. But I will like to inform that our sages were mainly

interested in the motion of the Moon, for which constellations were

important and they have nomination 27 (28) constellations for

identifying the location of the Moon for counting the 30 tithi cycle

for a month (which were also created on the basis of location of the

Moon in a particular const. like Chaitra, Vaishakh etc.). They have

not devised the names of signs, which were adopted from Greeks.

 

Basic knowledge : Sage Parashar is considered as a founder sage for

astrology. He has formulated basic principles on the basis of the

then knowledge of Universe. His knowledge of universe is well

recorded in " Vishnu puran " , where he says that Earth is stationary

and Sun is hovering over it at a height of 1 lakh yojan (1 yojan =

about 14 km) and Moon is over the Sun again at a height of 1 lakh

yojan. All constellations are again one lakh yojan from the Moon and

Mercury is 2 lakh Yojan from the constellations followed by other

planets. In view of this I will like to know as to whether he has

formulated the principles on this knowledge, or he knows about the

present solar system or he has opted some other system. After doing

too much brain scratching I could find that astrological principles

were formulated on this basic concept and it is also incorporated in

my Books too, followed by personal and private affirmation by the

astrologers. But they are afraid to loose their business if they

publicly admit it. So please open your mind and share your views.

 

I will like to request amateur and sincere members, who are just

interested in astrology or just studying it as a hobby to take active

part in discussion otherwise they are going to loose a good

opportunity to know the baseless foundation of the astrology and they

may take some wrong decision on the basis of horoscope, which may

affect their life. Do not wait for some other members to ask or

question the issue. In that case you will never learn any thing. Do

not hesitate for any views because this forum is not screening your

views before allowing your msg. You can use your language. Do not

hesitate with your language because it is not a forum to analyze your

language. Until unless you will ask your point, you mind will not be

clear about any thing. Remember every question is a gateway of

knowledge. We are not asking you to change your mind-set or business

but at least you or I can improve your / our knowledge by proper

exchange of views. Remember next generation is not going to follow

blind-faith. So try to pass on the correct knowledge to next

generation. Do not try to impose astrological principles, which were

founded on wrong concept of the Universe, planet, Earth,

constellation etc.

 

What I find during exchange of views in this forum that supporter of

astrology may try to side track the main point of discussion thus we

are not able to analyze any principle properly. Whereas I am

repeatedly requesting that discussion has nothing to do with personal

mind-set and we have to stick our discussion only on some

astrological point instead of throwing some useless sentences, which

has nothing to do with analysis. I know that we have many astrologers

in our forum. They are either silent since the beginning or silent

after 1 or 2 msg. I do not know any reason for this. I think that

either they do not know any thing more then whatever has been

disclosed by them or they do not want to expose their knowledge for

fear of their business. Such members may be rest assured that I am

not going to inform your clients and I have no objection with your

predictive business, which has been admitted by some astrologer

members that it is not prediction but it is counseling. Another view

was that what is the harm when they have no employment. So really, I

have no objection with anybodies job. But remember silence,

sidetracking the point, diverting the point, supporting blind-faith,

using filthy language, msg without any logical content etc. are not

going to serve any purpose.

 

But if they really want to use the opportunity of the forum then they

must come out with their stand on above points or any previous points

of any msg. I will also like to have the opinion of learner

astrologers, who have to lead the future society.

 

We have members from USA to Australia and from North India to South

India. Members of other countries may have a concept that western

astrology was developed on the basis of principles founded by

Ptolemy. But I will like to invite them for discussion on this point

too. Because Ptolemy has only adopted the basic astrological

principles as developed by Indian sages. Hence they must also know

and share there views as to how every principle was formulated (if

they think that Ptolemy was the founder of astrological principles or

Indian sages were the founders).

 

After hearing from the members on above starting points or any other

point of their liking may be raised and we will systematically

analyze and exchange the views on the point and slowly move to other

points. But do not think that I will simply go on writing without

receiving any reply. Because whatever is my research during my

association with astrology for +35 years has already been published

through two books (index may be seen in file section) 5 years back

and very well recognized by readers. Hence now I am only concerned

with the questions and any logical, scientific stand of the

astrologers to improve mutual knowledge.

 

In last I will like to request members that please be within the

frame of analyzing any principle instead of throwing some useless

msgs, sentences, filthy language etc. which has nothing to do with

the point of discussion. At least we can write properly because forum

is meant for exchange of views and not for settling personal score.

So that every msg has some concrete material instead of useless

content by way of wastage of time in writing and reading. Try to

support your point logically, scientifically but not as a blind faith

or as your mind set. Try to distinguish mind set and knowledge.

 

Members can as usual invite their friends in the forum, take opinion

on any point from other forums and share their views on my email too.
