For those who do not the ABC of astro-facts:Sun is roughly 8 minutes from earth and not light years away.1 light year = distance travelled by light in one calendar year>> " Sun is a star too quiet far away from..some light years away.

Yet its light does affect life in earth in a significant way. " >>>>In other words, if that star wantsi.e. Shravana wants to " affect " me individually, it will take it at

least seventeen years to do so even if that " effect " travels at thespeed of light! On Tue, Jul 1, 2008 at 12:22 AM, sureshbalaraman <sureshbalaraman wrote:

Avtarji :>>It is said that stars affect us! It appears either these astrologershave gone honkers themselves or they suppose that the whole world has

really gone mad! Let us see how:I am a puny human being on this small planet called earth. The sun ishundreds of thousands of times larger than the earth! And there are

other stars of our nakshatra/rashichakra that are supposed to affectme individually as per the Dasha-Bhukti that is running in myhoroscope! However, this fantastic statement has no leg to stand upon

since the nearest star of that Rashichakra is Shravana! And do youknow its distance from me? It is seventeen light years! And it isseveral times larger than our sun! In other words, if that star wants

i.e. Shravana wants to " affect " me individually, it will take it atleast seventeen years to do so even if that " effect " travels at thespeed of light! And by then, my Rahu or Shani or whatever Dasha it

may be must have been over! Then how can such a star which istrillions of times larger than me send its rays in a concentrated formjust to haunt me at a particular point of time! Can you imagine what

type of laughing stocks we are making of ourselves by believing insuch hocus pocus!Similarly, the next nearest star of our Rashichakra is Swati ! It is

away by 26 light years from me and is again several times larger than our sun!! It thus defies imagination as to how we can call astrology a scienceor how it can be said that the " Stars affect us " .<<

Sun is a star too quiet far away from..some light years away.Yet its light does affect life in earth in a significant way.Why did our saints use Sun,Moon,Nakshatras to create a Panchangam then?Nakshatras 27 of them being used in our calendars, should not be used

according to your illogical logic, isn't it?As its hocus pocus, and stars do not affect us???My suggestion,is we take Lord Krishna as the Mukhya Daivam, and stick to Margasheersham as the 12 th month from Nov 21 to Dec 21/22.

Let Pausham be the first month of the start of new year, with Sun,Moon,Nakshatras as you have incorporated for the festivals calendar in file section,is my suggestion.>>Can you imagine what type of laughing stocks

we are making of ourselves by believing in such hocus pocus!<<In front of whom are you referring? Even in your calendar, you are using Sun,Moon,Nakshatrasas if these celestial objects, should determine festivals? Why these

selective choice of puranas, shastras? This post is pure academic purpose,in no way beingdis-respectful to you.sb
