Guest guest
Dear Nirmal ji, Namaskar, I agree with you too. I feel that I am the only one who can't seem to grasp Lal Kitab..) Let's start line by line as you sugested..Here's my take at interpreting it. Please add/correct if/when you feel appropritae. 1) Ghar pehla hai Takht Hazari, Grah Phal Raja Kundli ka. Interpretation: I think this is to emphasize the supreme importance of Lagna or first house. It's referred to as 'King' of the whole kundli. 2) Jyotish mein ise Lagna bhi Kehte, Jhagdha Manush hai Maya Ka. Purab taraf Pakka Ghar Suraj, Paropkar Chavanni ka. Interpretation: This house (1st house) represents the struggle between Maya & Manush. In the Purab (North), there is a fixed house of Sun. Questions: These lines are not clear: Paropkar Chavanni ka. Vajud Makan Ruh Muluk bhi, Ginte Jamana Haal Kamai Ka. 3) Char Diwari Teh ke Goshe, Sing Maveshi Khade ho Jinke... Question: Not clear about this line... Please advise. Thanks, Anshev B. Also, 'Purab tara Pakka Ghar Suraj' could be referring to the sign of Surya - Simha. 'Pakka Ghar' means his own house? > Questions: These lines are not clear: Paropkar Chavanni ka. That is Lagna signifying not only the ego (as above) but also his present existence through the materialist body. Just my thoughts. Guest guest
Dear Dinesh ji, Namaskar, Thanks for your thoughts. I think they are valuable. The point about struggle between Maya & Manush is true. Also the point about the Ruh (Spirit) living inthe body, so 1st house signifying physical body is valid. I also agree about 1st house being called the Pukka Ghar of Sun. I am not sure what Pakka Ghar means in this case though.. What do you make of line: 'Paropkar Chavanni ka' ? I am not an expert in Urdu, but I think 'Vajud Makan Ruh Muluk bhi' may also mean a few other things: 'Vajud = Existance' 'Makan = House' 'Ruh = soul/spirit' 'Muluk = country' Is this stranza saying that the 1st house signifies all these above things as well ? What do you think ? best wishes, Anshev B. I also agree about 1st house being called the Pukka Ghar of > Sun. I am not sure what Pakka Ghar means in this case though.. > I am assuming that 'Pukka Ghar' of Sun refers to 2 things :- - If we consider the direction North, than I think it is refering to the Sun's sign Simha (Leo). - It could also mean that Sun is the natural significator of the 1st house as Sun rules Atma (Soul), which he refers in this sloka. - There is another possibility, which missed my mind last time. It could be referring to 1st house of the Naisarghik (Natural) Kundli (Horoscope) - Aries, as the rasi where Sun attains Exaltated status. > What do you make of line: 'Paropkar Chavanni ka' ? > Could be possible that he could be referring to the value to be given this house. Chavanni, could be referring to the unit, which in Hindi would mean 25 paise. As some refer to another intellegence as 'Chavani kam hai', it could also mean that the 1st house is referring to intellegence, indirectly. > I am not an expert in Urdu, but I think 'Vajud Makan Ruh Muluk bhi' > may also mean a few other things: > > 'Vajud = Existance' > 'Makan = House' > 'Ruh = soul/spirit' > 'Muluk = country' > Neither am an Expert in Urdu. You could be right. > Is this stranza saying that the 1st house signifies all these above > things as well ? What do you think ? > So 'Paropkar Chavani ka' with other sentences could mean that the 1st house is referring to the body which is the house of the soul, which is always in struggle between its ego and maya (illusion), which is given birth as an effect (paropkar) of intellegence (chavani ka). What do you think? I hope the experts and those who know Urdu would participate and share their knowledge. Take care, Dinesh. ____ Click here to donate to the Hurricane Katrina relief effort. http://store./redcross-donate3/
