Dear Varma ji,

 

[ 1 ] Yes he can use rectangular pieces.

[ 2 ] Yes he can bury near a river, if he likes.

[ 3 ] He can use Kerosene. But do not break the kaudis in small

pieces. let them burn whole.

[ 4 ] Yes he can collect enough rain water in any container. Keep it

any where you like. It doesn't become an upaya unless there is a

sankalp behind it.
