Dear radhakrishnan ji,

 

The banayan tree is known as bargad. Ashok tree and the banayan tree

are known as different trees even in the north.

Ashok tree is very common in the north. You could ask some one from

the north to send a piece of its root to you.

Dear Sir,

 

Go to any plant nurcery and you ask for Ashok tree,

they will provide you with the right one. I did same.
