Respected Sir,

In the rules for Upaya doc. There are 2 statements for which I want

a clarification. What I could understand is that if there is a

sequence mentioned then we should not overlap the Upaya else it is

ok if we do the upayas concurrently.

1. Upaya can run concurrently provided they are started on different

days.

" Suppose you are advised to water a Peepal tree every Thursday,

offer arghya to the Sun God every day , apply haldi tilak every day

and so on ; it doesn't mean you can't do other upaya because you are

already doing an upaya. You can do other upaya while you continue

watering the Peepal tree every Thursday. The only precaution to be

taken is that the two upaya should not be started the same day. More

than one upaya can run concurrently provided they are started on

different days and not on the same day

"

2.Do one upaya at a time. Take up the next upaya only when the

first upaya is completed.

" Some one was doing an upaya of offering rice at a

temple for 6 days and next he was to do the upaya of keeping a silver

toy elephant at home. On the sixth day , when he had already offered

the rice at the temple , on his way back home he bought a silver toy

elephant for the upaya he had to start next. Now, this was wrong

because this meant starting the upaya on the sixth day of the

previous upaya, because the silver elephant is with you already and

the sixth day of the previous upaya is not over yet. Therefore:

[ 4 ] Give a few days break before starting the next upaya.

"
