Greetings,This is just my imagination and my thoughts. Please do correct me and add to this thought where ever you think necessary. I will love to hear from you and your view on this. This will help me in thinking better and in my development. Warm regardsNavin GoyalDoes Free Will Exist ? I have been troubled with this concept of free will for over a year now. I have been thinking, reading and consulting, but I never found anything satisfying. Then one day, doing nothing, I started to play a classic game " Minesweeper " . The expert level is a little tough, where I have to unearth 100 bombs. I tried at least 100 times before I could actually solve it one day. Now the funny part. There were many time when I use to be stuck with 2 blocks and one bomb to unearth. Mathematically it is impossible to determine the bomb. So I had to try my luck. The probability was 50 % . I use to painstakingly solve the whole puzzle to reach the end, with two blocks and one of them having a bomb, where I had to try my luck. This happened at least 10 times. Now ideally and the law of probability suggests that I should get 5 correct and 5 wrongs. Nothing of this sort happened. I got only one right and 9 wrong.

During all these 10 times, I use to ponder over those 2 blocks and ask which is the bomb to myself and no matter what i did i always selected to bomb and i never completed the puzzle. This got me thinking. ( I am giving this true example to convey my point effectively. The example may be too trivial/simple, but it does get the point across effectively)

1. If I always selected the bomb, then perhaps unknowingly/subconsciously my mind knew the answer. But perhaps the time was not right for me to solve the puzzle. Hence my mind always selected to bomb.2. If the above statement is assumed to be true, then the outcomes/results of all our actions are pre decided. Therefore in the maya, we get the feeling of taking a decision and doing an action but the result is already decided and known to the subconscious mind. we are just the doer, results are not in our hand.

3. In the above puzzle, if you have ever played and noticed it, that everything fits in exactly. Every bomb has to be in its place if the puzzle has to be solved. If we consider this to be a very very simple version of this world, and we compare each block as one human, then we come to know that nothing in this world by chance. Everything has to be in its place . No block can change its place.

So does this mean , that free will does not exists. Now lets look at the metaphysical level. We consider that evey human takes birth in a particular arrangement of planetary position, depending on the " purva sanchit karm " . So we get our personality and our qualities. In a way our planetary position also influence our logic and thinking. Our logic/ thinking decide all our actions. Hence if our logic/thinking is itself not free, how can our actions be completely free. Just imagine, if 100 babies are locked in a room with one human and this human cannot possibly comprehend or predict each action of each baby. It will be really chaotic in there. Similarly, this world has 6 billion humans. If we all had free will and if all could do what they want and if all the results of their actions were not predecided by god, then just think this world would have been extinct long back.

This world is a system, or a puzzle, if I may say so and we are a part of this system. Every thing we do has an effect on this system ( action and reaction ). So this is a very complex interconnections of entities. So therefore every thing has to be in its place and every action has to happen at the pre decided time with a pre decided result for this world to survive. Therefore, I have serious doubts regarding Free Will ?
