In astrology normally a native is advised to worship, from time to

time depending on the need, his Ishta Devta, the devta signified by

the Lagna lord and the devta signified by the Maha Dasha or Antar

Dasha lord.

 

Worshipping Ishta devta is like your every day food, to be done

every day. As essential as your food. If one can live without his

daily meals, he might as well live without his obeisance to his

Ishta Devta.

 

Worshipping the devta of the Lagna lord is like having a B-complex

tablet, advisable to have it every day but not essential. You could

even do without it.

 

Worshipping the devta signified by Maha Dasha or Antar Dasha lord

is like an anti-biotic, which you need when sick. It is not every

day that you take an anti-biotic. Worshipping the Dasha lord devta

is for a specific purpose and for a specific period.

 

I wouldn't know how your worshipping the Ishta devta would effect

your life. You have to find out for yourself.

 

Your Ishta Devta is Lord Brahma.

There are various methods to find out the ishta devta through a

horoscope. I use the navansh lord of the moon for it.
