Guest guest
Friends, Here's an oft-repeated advice: Buyer beware. You get what you pay for. Free download? --Bad quality. Cheap priced book? (Keshvananad - " Himalaya-based " edition) -- too many errors to tolerate. As they say " naqal ke liye bhee aqal chaahiye " the aqal which these guys (keshavananad and the publisher) didn't use at all while copying from Vij-Chandershekhar translation. There is absolutely no need to be judgemental regarding the morality or business aspects of this issue (some people are unnecessarily trying to be the " moral police " and assuming to be holier-than-thou, accusing every other person of profiting from it ) but the real truth is that M/s Vij - ChanderShekhar-translation of the '52 book is the absolute best to-date, not flawless, though. Nothing else available in " black " or " white " market comes even close to the Vij-ChanderShekhar-translation. Season's greetings to all. Rajinder Bhatia . Guest guest
Dear Bhatia ji, We have three volume Ambala copy of 1952 ed ; and of course all other versions ever printed , including Keshavanand’s printed book. We also have with us a 1952 Hindi typed version and which was sold by shri Chandra Shekhar after getting it photocopied. The lines, which occur, just in the beginning of Jupiter in the 7th chapter and have been quoted by you in one of your mails as: " Shrimati Shivraj dwara sunaya gaya: na kattiye te soot nahin, na jammiye te poot nahin. " These lines have been typed differently in the Hindi Typed version [ page 246 ] that we have; Kattiye nahi te soot nahi Angiya nahi te poot nahi [shrimati shivrajpati dwara sunaya gaya ] I find the same text in Keshavanand’s book as well. About the credibility of keshavanand’s book, it is as credible or non- credible as all such versions available in the market. The only credible version is the urdu 1952 edition. But that too has quite a few printing mistakes. You said that the keshvanand’s book has included an aside by Mrs Shivrajpati ji. It is an interpolation and should not have been included. Do you still believe that the keshavanand’s book is not faithful to the Ambala version. You through your own admission have proved that Keshavanand’s version has followed the Ambala version so blindly that it has included an interpolation also. If the book to be uploaded by Nirmal ji is the same that we have in the typed version, then I must say it is not an authentic translation. This translation is as bad as Arun Sanhita or Keshavanand’s book. When the typed version is uploaded by Nirmal ji, we will compare it with keshavanand’s book and the typed version that we have and let the Lal Kitab community know about it. We hope the hype and the bloat stays. Sincerely, KP Miglani lalkitab , Rajinder Bhatia <rajinderbhatia2002 wrote: > > Friends, > Here's an oft-repeated advice: Buyer beware.
