Guest guest
Dear all, I am really happy having received tremendous response for this mail and I was sent 30 to 35 charts for analysis. Guest guest
Dear Kishore, May be the reason for seniors not to respond is that they do not find easy to lay hands on charts with only Mercury or Mercury and Sun in 7th without any aspect of other planets on them. Also it is possible that they think about Mercury significance in a different manner. For myself, I would respect Parashara and accept that a bhava aspected by Mercury is strengthened, as told by him and other of equal astrological wisdom, and could not therefore think he deal in duplicity or some such blanket statement. I would also not think Mercury only by reason of occupying a bhava will give certain result unless the rasi occupied and the bhavas that he owns are factored in. Guest guest
Dear Chandra sekhar, I have only discussed what is given in various places in the Modern and Classical Texts. I am an ardent believer of Parasara myself and condemn anyone who talks against dictums. Dictums are 100% right but each dictum is given for ideal conditions ie to say the per se situation. Mercury in 2nd from AL will make the native a king is a per se dictum but you have to apply plus and minus to this dictum. These plusses and minusses will come from other factors of the Chart, including the influences of other planets and signs on the Combination itself. Mercury in Gemini, Mercury in Virgo or Mercury in Aquarius or pisces will not behave the same way even if the combinations are identical. Similarly, Jupiter who is the 3rd Star Lord and Jupiter who is 4th Star Lord will behave in a totally different way for an identical D1. Now, coming to the discussion, i have not asked for pure mercury or pure sun in 7th. Obviously, there will be several conjoinments and conjunctions and aspects and other associations. I am only interested in seeing how the placement of these planets in isolation or in tandem with others work whilst placed in the 7th House. My interest arises from the totally different stands taken by the classical writers and Modern writers. I hope I am clear. Guest guest
Dear Kishore, So we are agreed on major points. When comparing the modern and the classics it may be a good idea to look for any logic for divergent views given by the modern texts, before coming to any definite conclusions. By the way may I know which classic says that Mercury in 2nd from lagna Pada makes one a King, irrespective of any qualifications? I am asking this as do not remember something like this nor do I understand the logic for this proposition. I know about such a shloka in BPHS but that shloka comes after sage Parashara tells that any of Budha, Shukra or Guru being in exaltation and in strength in 2nd from Lagna pada makes one rich. So it is not mere Budha that will have to be understood to cause one to become king it would have to be with exaltation and otherwise in strength. It also must be remembered that if a bhava is weak its Arudha may not give the full effect of its indications in reality. Anyway that is besides point. I was only giving the reasons why seniors might not have responded. By the way Parashara deserves all respect but one should never be over zealous as there are many editions with different shlokas for BPHS. One will have to check them against astrological logic and then only accept them. So condemning some one only because he questions some dictum of Parashara may show loyalty to Parashara but not to the ideals of high level of knowledge that was the Venerated Sage's aim. Guest guest
Hare Krishna Dear Kishore, In general, I think Sun and Mercury in the 7th is negative. It is better not to have any planets in the 7th house, 7th house is the house of rebirth. or one that what causes us to be reborn.. THe 7th being a kama house with planets in it -just add problems. The Sun is setting in the 7th house and is considered an inauspicious time. Also ideally Mercury should be some distance ahead of the Sun for best intelligence. So if they are tightly conjoined then you have other mercury related problems that can affect life/or relationships as well. Sun combinations in 7th can lead to renunciation, Mercury combinations can contribute to non sexuality or homosexuality. Some authors say Mercury in 7th house is in MKS. I'm sorry I dont have any charts with just UNASPECTED Sun and mercury in the 7th that I can share. Of course for analysis, alot depends on aspects and lagna rising etc. Sun is kroora planet , but for some issues related to spiirutality it is not considered a malefic otherwise it is. It is hard to draw some conclusions just based on a planetary placement on its own. For example if the Sun is in 29'scorpio with mercury in 7th house you have a real problem, isnt it? Whereas in other signs it might not be so bad. Guest guest
dear lakmikary, the award of best answer goes to you. you can send me the charts with sun and/or mercury. It does not matter that they have the association of other planets. please add a note about each chart with respect to the married life of the native. regards, Kishore patnaik On 10/23/06, lakshmikary <lakshmikary wrote: Hare KrishnaDear Kishore,In general, I think Sun and Mercury in the 7th is negative. It is better not to have any planets in the 7th house, 7th house is the house of rebirth. or one that what causes us to be reborn..THe 7th being a kama house with planets in it -just add problems. Some authors say Mercury in 7th house is in MKS.I'm sorry I dont have any charts with just UNASPECTED Sun and mercury in the 7th that I can share.Of course for analysis, alot depends on aspects and lagna rising etc.Sun is kroora planet , but for some issues related to spiirutality it is not considered a malefic otherwise it is. It is hard to draw some conclusions just based on a planetary placement on its own.For example if the Sun is in 29'scorpio with mercury in 7th house you have a real problem, isnt it? Whereas in other signs it might not be so bad.Best wishesLakshmisohamsa , " kishore patnaik " <kishorepatnaik09 wrote:>> Dear all,> > I am really happy having received tremendous response for this mail> and I was sent 30 to 35 charts for analysis. > > However, I notice with regret that the Regulars and the Respected> Seniors are consipicuous by their silence(except two or three people)> .> > Whatever I am doing, I am doing for academic betterment in mind with> the clear and sole intention of larger interest of the Science at> heart.> > I hope the Seniors will enlighten us with their valuable opinons on> the subject and encourage such academic discussions. > > best regards,> > Kishore patnaik> 98492 70729 > On 10/10/06, kishore patnaik <kishorepatnaik09 wrote:> > Dear all,> >> > Mercury in the 7th House from Lagna is often touted as a beneficial.> > Saravali says it makes the native a learned man and beautiful and> > obtains him a beautful and wealthy wife.> >> > However, Mridula choudhury even as describing Mercury in such a > > position as extremely being beneficial to the chart in matters of> > marriage, says such Mercury is often responsble for two marriages.> >> > This is so since Mercury owns dual signs as well being a jumpy > > planet.mercury is famous for the duplicity and dilemma.> >> > In other words, Mercury is not so very beneficial as it meets the first eye.> >> > On the other hand, Sun in 7th is seen as choosy and divisive and said> > to be leading to Divorce. Guest guest
Mercury in the 7th house will do good or bad can not be predicted unless you know the lagna and planitary position of other planets.Hence one shouls not reach to any conclusion by positioning mercury in 7th house.Mercury alone does not have power to do well in a house. So it will give the result of Rashi where it is placed.
