Guest guest
Respected Damoo ji, Namaskar, Shatrudriya (or Sri Rudram OR Rudraprashanam OR Namakam-Chamakam OR Chamakam Prasnam etc), is a hymn from Yajurveda chapters 16 & 18. It is a powerful prayer to Lord Shiva. Popular Maha Mryutyunjaya Mantra ('Om Tryambkam...') is a part of this hymn. The hymn is in Samskr't and long, so difficult to learn and memorize but it is said to be one of the most potent prayers to the Lord Shiva. His worship is regarded as the removal of all sins and the giver of all that one desires. In Namakam, lord is praised as lord of all good and evil and in Chamakam, the devotee unbashedly asks for all worldly and spiritual boons & prosperity. It is one of the most powerful prayers I have ever seen. It may take a little while to learn it but the effort in learning it is negligible as compared to the benefits it can give. You can read the commentary of Shri Rudram by Swami Krishnananda by downloading the book 'daily invocations' from the following link. http://www.swami-krishnananda.org/books_3.html As for downloading the actual Sri Rudram, either check with your local vedic books store or check online. If you are not able to make any progress, let me know and I will send it to you. best wishes, Anshev B.
