Well I dont know whether the Yoginis are wives of saturn or rahu or not,as I never studied so(you please reply from where did you get this information). What I know about Yogini Dashas is that they are again a very fascinating dasha system propounded By gr8 Parashara on which a lot of research is required in todays time(many people have successfully done it but I feel there is lot to be explored about them). Yogini Dasha system has more to do with occult or Tantra,as Yoginis are Tantric Powers of different planets, different planets effect with their illusionary powers or Maya every living/nonliving things on this planet.These Yoginis were evolved after the Yoga or communion Of SHIVA and SHAKTI When and how these Mayic Powers influence humans is all about Yogini Dasha System. Mukesh Ji you asked about their explaination, what explaination do you require about them,do you want to ask the logic behind them then I'm sorry I cant do that as no scholar/seer/sage has ever clearly explained logic behind any Dasha System say it Vimshottari or Ashtottari. I can write some facts gathered from here and there plus some of my own perceptions, thinking,logic,opinions etc. about Yogini Dashas as following-- The various dashas propounded by Parashar and Jaimini were excellent for the three yugas – Satyayuga, Tretayuga and Dwaparayuga – but for Kaliyuga, dasha calculatation based on Yogini dasha is excellent for giving all kinds of results.We all know that out of the two dashas applicable at the time of birth, Vimshottari dasha should be applied for the births at night during Shukla Paksha and Ashtottari dasha for births during day in Krishna Paksha. But in all other cases Yogini dasha gives accurate results. Fundamentals Of YDS--- There are eight kinds of Yoginis viz. Mangala, Pingala, Dhanya, Bhramari, Bhadrika, Ulka, Siddha and Sankata. It is believed that the planets Moon, Sun, Jupiter, Mars, Mercury, Saturn, Venus and Rahu have evolved respectively from the Yoginis Mangala, Pingala, etc. The sequence of these Yoginis, their lords and operative periods are as follows S.No. Yogini Lord Period 1. Mangala Moon 1 yr 2. Pingala Sun 2 yrs 3. Dhanya Jupiter 3 yrs 4. Bhramari Mars 4 yrs 5. Bhadrika Mercury 5 yrs 6. Ulka Saturn 6 yrs 7. Siddha Venus 7 yrs 8. Sankata Rahu 8 yrs Total Period : 36 years The first half of Sankata is ruled by Rahu while the second half is ruled by Ketu. See that the sequence of Yoginis is alternatively benefic and malefic and their periods are consequently increasing by one year. So you are right that they are important and cant be neglected or avoided by astrologers,infact I myself use them a lot while analyzing charts and I know there are few Masters of this System who can give extremely accurate results by using Yogini Dashas alone. This is all for time being(though I can write more but message is already too long and whatever you write about Dashas is never adequate). I forget which book I read this could be atherwad sanhita wherein mentioned sankta is wife of rahu and ulka is wife of sani and pingla of sun etc. My question is you said first half of sankta is ruled by rahu and rest of it by ketu . Now if a person is running sankta during mahadasa of venus and antardasha of sani , then books says , during such period person will be effected by diseases, problem related to health, his parents income and heath will suffer and can lead to death of that person due to fire , or accident or water suffered by sankta . Now if this is true than is there any remedy besides I heard that there is some RAHU SANKTA raksha kavch which provide some kind of protection to the native suffering from sankta. In my knowledge , person should perform shani pooja and donate mustartd oil,til and daal on Saturday will reduce the effect of rahu , secondly if rahu is placed with mangal than there is no possibility that native death will occur.
