Guest guest Posted September 19, 2006 Report Share Posted September 19, 2006 respected Sir, if astrology is to be raised to the level of science, we must forget about convenience and do the calculations strictly as per maths. . before that it must be decided as to how many days a year in Vinshottari mahadasha contains. is it 365 days or 360 days or 354 days? Shukra Mahadasha has a period of 20years. is it equal to 7300 days or 7200 days or 7080days? i have not taken Nakshatra-year into consideration which is a mistake. this year contains 327 days according to which the Shukra mahadasha will be of 6540days only. considering the fact that KP System is based and gives tremandous importance to Nakshatras why should not we take the Nakshatra year into consideration for calculating mahadasha periods? regards, sujat karambelkar. Solar year means the point in zodiac when Sun comes back after travalleing 360 degrees of longitudes( which infact is speed of Earth). Since the orbit is not a circular path and is oval the numbers of hours earth travells from one sun rise to the next isnt exactly 24 hours. Mahadasa or for that any dasa is calculated on the basis of 365 days.
