My personal opinion is that for software programming purposes, certainly an 'across the board' 5 degree orb will be more than satisfactory for the work of most Astrologers...especially given the fact that most serious Astrologer's are both astute and observing in their calculations. Keeping that in mind, an Astrologer's personal preferences will always be reflected in their individual judgments. In other words - preferential 'adjustments' will be made accordingly, and to suit their individual liking. So 5 degrees works, and each can observe these effects - and then personally elect to adjust their preferences against their own personal assessment - prior to their final evaluation of these individual planetary orbs of cuspal influence. Chandra tend to give the next Rasi phalam 1.12 hrs in advance of its transit to the next Rasi. Mangal tend to give the next Rasi phalam 8 days in advance of its transit to the next Rasi. Budha & Sukra tend to give the next Rasi phalam 7 days in advance of its transit to the next Rasi. Guru,Rahu,Ketu tend to give the next Rasi phalam 2 months in advance of its transit to the next Rasi. Sani tend to give the next Rasi phalam 4 months in advance of its transit to the next Rasi. With regards, D.Sathiyanarayana Gupta. You have provided an interesting information. How much early rahu/shani starts giving results in transit (of next sign in transit). Notes: The number of degrees to traverse before changing of Sisn will be: 1.SUN 5days in advance = app 5 degrees. 2.MOON 1.12 hrs. ave 13.5 deg in 24 hrs So app .7 deg 3.Mars 8days. 1.5 months per 30 deg= 5deg 20 mts 4.Merc 7 days 1month per sign = 7 deg 5.jup 2months : 1 yr per sign= 5 deg. 6.Ven 7 days : 1month per sign=7 deg 7.Sat 4 months: 30 months per sign =4 deg. 8.Rahu 2 months: 18 months per sign= 3.33 deg we are taking 3deg 20 min for all planets to give the effect of the next house. IF WE TAKE 5 DEGREES AS THE ORB FOR ALL PLANETS, FOR THEM TO ACT ON THE NEXT CUSP, I BELEIVE, IT WILL BE IN CONSONANCE WITH THIS FINDING IN TRADITIONAL ASTROLOGY,EXCEPT MOON. RAICHUR .A.
