Mandi and of Gulika are different, so these items are likely not the

same.

2:51' AM LMT at 22N40' Lat & 88E30' Long

 

It would be very difficult to explain the death of Rabindranath

Tagore in Jupiter Dasa Jupiter antardasa, especially when Jupiter is

the lord of Lagna and is also exalted in the ninth from Arudha

Lagna. However Gulika is in Visakha Nakshatra ruled by Jupiter and

hence Jupiter shall give the results of Gulika in its initial

In Vedic astrology there are other minor " planets " called upa-graha,

and I looked up one of the main ones for MM's chart-Gulika, which is

also called Maandi. Like Rahu and Ketu, it has no physical

existence. Gulika is generally considered the most malefic entity in

a chart. His is at 10 degrees Gemini. The scriptures say when Gulika

is in 12th House, " the native will indulge in base deeds, be sinful,

indolent and will join mean people. " When Gulika is conjunct Jupiter

as in this case, it can indicate hypocritical tendencies.

The dasha periods of the dispositor of Gulika (Mercury) may be

dangerous. Fortunately he will probably not have the major dasha

because it is very late in the life.

 

A point 180º from Gulika is also considered as acutely malefic in

the natal chart. This is better known as the Pramaana Gulika in

Vedic astrology. In this case, Pramaana Gulika is both the Moon and

Mars. The dispositor of Pramaana Gulika may also prove fatal during

its dasha, which would be Jupiter's dasa starting at age 62. I would

be wary during the Jupiter-Moon or Jupiter-Mars periods especially

if Saturn (a maraka-killer for this chart as 7th lord) is aspecting

I have not come across any reference to 'gulika' during the many years of my disappointing experience with traditional astrology,nor references to the "effects of gulika",in analyses of the many horoscopes...published in the "Astrological Magazine"...and other traditional astrology magazines... Dear Mr RaoI have personally not used Gulika in my charts, as it is a Traditional concept, but in the Vedic Astrology Group, and letters there in there are regular reference to this. In fact the charts, always show the position of Gulika. Vedic astrology. In this case, Pramaana Gulika is both the Moon and Mars. The dispositor of Pramaana Gulika may also prove fatal during its dasha, which would be Jupiter's dasa starting at age 62. Dear Raichurji and all, i like to share few comments about Gulika and mandi becoz basicly i learnd kerala astrology first. so in kerala astrology most of the people use mandi. Gulika and mandi is diffrent. Gulika: Where lagna raisng at the time of gulika time( like rahu kalam and emakandam) start that longitude called Gulika point. Gulika is one of the sub planet (sunbeam). in kerala astrologers are not using gulika. Mandi: Where lagna raisng at the time of gulika time( like rahu kalam and emakandam) End that longitude

Mandi having aspects to 7,12 mandi wil spoile the nature of house where depositing and aspecting. and mandi also spoile the character of the planet which conjection with the house.for example mandi conjection with sun that cause father ill or death. Asper my practice it wil give perfect result in horary. for muhurtha chart where mandi deposited that was the main question(problem) for the native. i hope in kp system also we can use mandi. as per kp rule 7th house CSL connected with 1,6,10 then marriage life wil be a problem. if mandi deposited in 7th house it wil aspect 1,6. so mandi cause the marriage life in problem. Dear swami omkar, Could you illustrate any live example showing the effects of gulika or mandi ...? Personally,in my last so many years(over 40) of the practise of K.P. Astrology,and before that,traditional astrology(Raman's style),I have not noticed any noteworthy effects of either gulika or mandi or both...! With kind regards, L.Y.Rao. Dear swami omkar, Thanks,but don't you think that this too general...as it is with traditional astrology... I have not tried this concept in K.P., and whenever I get an opportunity,I shall certainly investigate this...but,as it has already been said Mandi is the son of Saturn...it will give the results of Sat but in less proportion... About gulika one could similarly... Saturn in VII is known to cause a delay and various problems depending upon it's significations and sub-lord...etc, in marriage/among partners/in business and alliances etc.. Thanks any way... Dear L Y Rao, I think we can use Mnadi with star and sub. becoz people are using lot of vedic astrology's general rules. like ucha and necha. becoz jupiter wil get debilation for one year in capricon. Dear Swami Omkar,I have also heard the Kerala Astrologers say that if the Mandi is located between the Asc and Sun in the chart, then it is moudyam, i.e., in effective. Please throw more light on this. With respects to all KP astrologers.
