Guest guest
Hi All, This is the third ADB survey I've done in the last few days. Actually I've done many ADB surveys in the past, but haven't keep track of them--even though there were some interesting results. All the positions below are sidereal using the Krishnamurti ayanamsa. There are 115 with known ascendants in the Child Prodigy category in ADB 4. I knew from the past study of high IQ children that the Moon and Mercury were important. So first I noted the sign position of the Moon and Mercury as counted from the ascendant. Then I totaled the position of the Moon and Mercury in individual signs. This gave some interesting results that tended to support the importance of Moon and Mercury for gifted children, as well as the way Moon and Mercury interact with each other: In support of Virgo as Mercury's primary sign: Moon in Virgo = 17 To suggest that the Moon really is the lord of Cancer: Moon in Cancer = 12 To support the idea that exaltation and falls may not apply: (meaning that whatever the meaning of those positions, they don't show up like the signs of lordship do in the sidereal zodiac: Moon in Scorpio (fall) = 12 Three other signs with higher totals: Taurus (Moon's exaltation), Aquarius and Pisces = 11 each The Aries triplicity doesn't fare well: Aries, Leo and Sag = 6 each This means that 6 zodiacal signs hold 64 percent of the Moons. The other 6 zodiacal signs hold the remaining 35 percent. (rounded percentages) I next checked the Moon's dispositor, which pretty much averaged out among signs except that Leo had only 4 dispositors, and Cancer had many positions. Taking the low Leo count in conjunction with only 6 Moon positions in Leo suggests that this sign doesn't generally represent gifted children. Perhaps this is because Leo is 12th from Virgo where Mercury and the Moon are strong. The Moon, of course, is its own dispositor. Moon in Cancer = 12 Moon's dispositor in Cancer = 11 (Total 23) The next highest total by sign was 11 for Libra. So this is evidence again that the Moon is at home in Cancer and is a good position for the mind. Libra was also high for Mercury. However, this may reflect the fact that many child prodigies are gifted in music. For Mercury, three signs were strongest: Aries = 14 (Aries is said to rule the head; Mercury is said to be strongest on the ascendant, house of Aries) Libra = 13 (music?) [This would be tropical Scorpio.] Aquarius = 13 (why?) A small suggestion that planets in exaltation and fall may work in some cases: Pisces = only 6 Mercuries compared to 14 for Aries. So these little studies give hints about how signs may work. Perhaps with 50 or so mini studies we might be able to put together a summary of which signs are most effective for individual planets. This in turn would either support or discount the concept of sign rulerships and exaltations. Therese Hamilton 11 February 2009 /
Guest guest
I forgot to mention that the Moon is a female planet, and all but one of the signs with the highest Moon totals for child prodigies were female: Taurus: 11 Cancer: 12 Virgo: 17 Scorpio: 12 Pisces: 11 ----------- Aquarius: 11 (male) The lowest counts were all in male signs, the Aries trigon: Aries, Leo, Sagittarius These would generally be reversed in the tropical zodiac except where the two zodiacs might overlap. Now we need some projects using the Sun to see if the Sun is more often in male signs for relevant surveys. Therese
