Dear Therese: What has your experiences of the Jyotish nodes of the Moon

been like?

------------------------

This is very individual, Mark, depdinding on associated planets and houses.

For example, I've seen comments by professional astrologers that Mars

conjunct Rahu has a lot to do with sex, but I have Mars with Rahu, Mars

rules my 5th, and there have been times when there have been great

difficulties with my children. That's how Rahu has played out. It does seem

to be best if the nodes don't conjoin any planet. It is all so totally

individual to the chart.

I'm running Ketu dasa now, and using deep meditation techniques. More and

more it seems that nothing at all is important or deserving of attachment.

Even my family members seem distant and like they're on a different planet.

Or rather I'm the one on another planet. Ketu is in the 4th in Pisces. (I'm

rather hoping I'll be able to check out before Ketu's dasa is finished.)

Transiting Pluto has been near my ascendant for some time.

One of my daughters has her ascendant lord Mars (Scorpio asc) with Ketu in

the 12th, and Venus is with Rahu in the 6th. She has never been able to

keep a relationship together because she's so independent. Two divorces

plus a few other relationships have all quickly died.

Bottom line: Like most of astrology, it seems that no rules apply to the

nodes. I'd have to go through charts and type what I know about each

person. But I guess we can say that the nodes tend to bring mostly trouble.

Oh, one more thing. A fellow astrologer and I have noted that if one

person's Rahu is conjunct another person's planet, the results are

beneficial and promote success or friendship. Ketu seems to indicate past

associations that need to be 'fixed,' or balanced if another person's

planet is on Ketu--past karmic relationships that have to be worked on.

Sincerely,

Therese
