About planets in houses and their dispositors (again)

I wrote at 29th May:

 

Barbara P.L. makes in entirely clear that it's the planet that affect (or

afflicts) the house - and it's the occupying planet that dictates its agenda

to the house it's in, and the same applies to the house rulers. Like Barbara

writes, if you have the Asc ruler in the 7th house, you tend to mold the

relationships according to your own agendas; if you have the 7th ruler on

your Asc, the relationships mold you.

 

I write now:

 

I gave another thought to this and came to the conclusion that it probably

cannot be like that. In fact Barbara P.L. contradicts herself at her site

too. I thought about people who have many planets in the 1st (whole sign)

house; having planets in the 1st house often makes a strong personality. If

those planets would dominate the 1st house, you wouldn't be a strong

personality but to the contrary: dominated by the things signified by the

1st house planets.

 

So maybe it is the other way out after all: when we have planet X in house

Y, the planet X is dominated by the things signified by that house Y. If the

native has several planets in the 1st house, those planets and the things

they represent are dominated by the native. Think about Rudolf Bing (9th

January 1902 at 8 AM Vienna, Austria) or Allen Brennan (16th January 1934 at

8.21 AM Chicago, IL) for example: both are/were really big bosses with a lot

of control. Both have/had very loaded 1st houses. Therefore: if your Asc

ruler is in the 7th, you're dominated by your relationships and desire to

negotiate; if your 7th house ruler in in the 1st, you dominate your

relationships.

 

Therese, in your case you have the 11th ruler in the 10th house, so your

income (the 11th house) is dominated/conditioned by your dignity (=10th

house). I have the same configuration in my chart because the 11th ruler

Mars in in my 10th whole sign house, and I've too had considerable

difficulties in mixing business and astrology. My 11th ruler is not

debilitated, though, so I have an independent income that's enough for

living. But if I had been thinking only money, I would do something

completely else for making money than I do now! The 10th house is the 12th

from the 11th house, so it's loss of income. One's dignity doesn't allow her

to operate in the marketplace.

 

Then it might be thought that a planet in a houses serves the purposes of

that house. It's an servant and the ruler is the boss. The planet work in

terms of its ruler, it serves the ruler. That's why it's so important to

look at the dispositor of the given planet. That's also why a benefic in the

6th house is considered bad in Vedic astrology: the 6th house represents

your servants, more strictly speaking your " army " , your defenders. It's the

house of enemies, but maybe more correctly it is your ability to defend

against your enemies. If you have tough planets there (Sun, Mars or Saturn)

you have a tough army, able to defend you. If you have a benefics - Venus or

Jupiter - there, they're like a watch dog who waves its tail when the

burglars come. In that sense they're useless in the 6th house.

 

Another thing that I've been thinking about is Barbara P.L.'s suggestion of

giving different houses to different spouses if you have multiple marriages.

The 1st marriage is the 7th house; the 2nd marriage is the 8th from the 7th

= the 2nd house; the 3rd marriage is the 8th from the 2nd = the 9th house,

and so on. First I rejected the idea, but then I gave it another thought.

 

I'm married for the second time, and because I have Gemini rising, my

current spouse would be signified by my 2nd house and the Moon. My Moon is

in the 4th house, so it serves the 4th house = the home. Yes indeed: my

husband does all of cooking and most of cleaning. I'm running Jupiter main

period in Vimsottari, and my Jupiter is in the 3rd house of daily

communication and routines; those do play a marked role in my current life.

The 3rd house is the 12th from the 4th house = all the time I spend here

writing and doing my emails, is time spent away from housework, very true.

Jupiter serves my 3rd house, it gives a sense of enjoyment and freedom for

the work I do in front of my computer (endless routine excel calculations

done for researches, etc.). Where you find your Jupiter, that is the area

that gives you flow experiences. That's why playing with numbers and

diagrams doesn't bother me at all, it's all fun.

 

My first spouse was signified by the 7th house and Jupiter, and I met him

through my younger brother because they were friends. At first we lived in

different towns, so we exhanged a lot of letters (that was before cell

phones and emails!), another 3rd house thing. But this second marriage has

completely different themes.
