Guest guest
I second Therese's recommendation for Barbara Pijan Lama's site. It's rare to find such fresh, original and at the same time wise text on astrology on the net. Take a look for example of this http://www.barbarapijan.com/bpa/Topics/Practice_Issues/The_Astrologers_Professio\ n.htm . Here Barbara Pijan discusses for example about should an astrologer be also a therapist and how to learn jyotish (with a guru or not?). Here you can find a balanced combination of modern Western thinking and deeply adopted tradition. Best, Sari

So If I kept going to different topics embedded in other topoics there was no way to go back to the beginning without using the back arrow. Am I missing something?? I gave up trying to read different topics because it was too much trouble to keep going back through pages. I hope I'm just not seeing a 'return to index' page icon. I admit that I have trouble 'seeing' with all lf Windows' colors and graphics. It seems that my brain processed the simplicity of plain DOS text more easily. Guest guest
Hi Therese, I've just gone " back " again. What I've done has been to copy separate articles into the email program, turn it to plain text, copy it again to Word and print on paper. It's quite exhausting to read the text on the monitor. Pijan Lama would make a great book out of the material if she only had an editor. I purposely use a very old e-mail progam that automatically puts everything from the internet in plain text. I suppose one day it will refuse to work with newer operating systems. With an entire bookcase full of Jyotish books that I'll probably never have time to read again, I'll have to pass on reading Barbara's site. Yes, her material would make a great book. Wonder if she's thought of that? Therese
Guest guest
Hi Therese and all, Glad you liked the site. I had stumbled upon it perhaps one year back. Back then the content was thinner and the site navigation was less easier than it is today. I find it works when you are able to get back to this page http://barbarapijan.com/bpa/bAstrHom.htm#Jyotisha%20Topics By no means the perfect solution, but works till they make it better. Actually I did write to Barbara months ago expressing my joy of having discovered her site and the information therein. This even today doesn't seem a very well-known site ( or so I think at least). Maybe she's a truly humble soul. But to me her response sounded like she was surprised by the comments. Since then many changes have been made in content. Hopefully they will make the navigation better in times to come. Maybe some of us here could drop her a note and some helpful suggestions? Guest guest
I'm so glad she has the imperator of the Catholic hospital for the CST, to save us from asking if she just wanted better placements than the CDT could offer. We do have that recent example of an astrologer who mid career, in jumping over into the Tropical zodiac, was forced to accept the fact (surprise, surprise) that his planets' signs improved! And now an elegant Saturn provides Eastern cachet to the 9th. Dark*Star _______________________________ Sari M wrote: > I second Therese's recommendation for Barbara Pijan Lama's site. Sari: I'll do the same. B. Pijan Lama has renewed my interest in jyotish. Her material on houses is just excellent - and I've had to reconsider whole sign houses again... (*sigh*, will this never end?) Best, Sari

But it all depends on what we are using houses for. Whole sign houses just mean that there are 12 signs and 12 different cusps realted to those signs. These combinations are used in yogas, always. So for example lord of 9th combined with lord of 1st forms a Raja Yoga (kingly combination). But depending on the house system used, this combo might be in say, the 5th or 6th house (as an example). This is where we need house research. Such fun!! We're at the vanguard of discovering what really works!! Therese
