Now they say here that John McCain was actually born at 11 AM according to

his mother:

" McCain's birth time was embedded like a gold nugget in a Mother's Day

campaign ad. His mother, Roberta, mentioned that her son was born Aug. 29,

1936, at 11 a.m. "

This time puts Mars right on the MC! No wonder we have wondering the crucial

role of his Mars in transits and progressions...

Hi Sari,

Yes, this has been on the internet. But the 9:00 a.m. time supposedly also

came from him mother. She's 95 years old now. So I'm not jumping on this

new time, and haven't had time to check it yet. The older time works very

well for past solar returns.

Hi Bettina,

Actually McCain was a Navy pilot, which might come under Mercury. He wasn't

doing ground combat. His father was also in the Navy, so there should be

water in there somewhere.

I've read that flying, piloting airplanes, etc. comes under Rahu. Why that

would be I don't know. My husband used to be a private pilot and has had a

life-long fascination with flying. He has Rahu close to the asc. JFK Jr.

was also a private pilot (unfortunately) and had Rahu cnj asc as well. I'm

sure not every pilot has Rahu strong, but there is some connection.

Bettina,

That would support the 9:00 birth time because the nodes are closely square

Mercury which would rule the 1st and 10th. The nodes can also explain much

about McCain's personality. He was something of a rabble rouser and rebel

when in school, and courted danger as a navy pilot. The nodes never quite

fit into polite society. When I computed past solar returns that natal

configuration was very often angular for important years in McCain's life.

I don't believe the 11th is a politician's house. From some research I've

done it's the house of writers, artists, astrologers, entrepreneurs. It's

too independent a house for the conformity required by the navy or a

political party.

Sari:

There's many people with Saturn in the 5th with many children. Astrologer

Steven Birchfield has both Saturn and Ketu in the 5th house (whole signs,

Sripati, Placidus, Vehlow, equal houses... you name it) and he has twelve

children. Winston Churchill had Saturn in the 5th and he had five children.

So it's not impossible.

Sari:

I've done a lot of these statistical studies lately and I've for example

used 20 different sample groups sized from 66 to 1582 to study one single

techinque to see which groups have emphasis and where. I studied the seven

traditional planets in Sripati houses (which group has most planets in any

house) and the groups with biggest emphasis in the 11th house were

- 150 adventurers/explorers,

- 460 criminal perpetrators and

- 85 rapists.

The groups with least planets in the 11th house were

- 72 people with unusual diet (mostly vegetarians),

- 81 spiritual leaders (containing Eastern eccleastics, cult leaders and

spiritual leaders) and

- 97 people in sex business (prostitutes, pimps, porn actors and models).

1036 politicians gave a very average result, not more, not less planets in

the 11th than the control group. But artists do have an emphasis in the 11th

house along with the 3rd.

So it seems that the 11th house is quite a 'mundane' or 'anti-spiritual'

house, aimed mostly at gaining or securing your own profits. If you wonder

what those prostitutes etc. do with spiritual leaders, they have

surpirsingly often paired either with them or with mystical people

(personality: mystical) in my studies. Sex worker's charts have a lot in

common with spirituality or mysticism.

I've wondered how that can be - my best explanation is that maybe both

groups have some kind of fatalism or passive, going-with-the-flow attitude

with them; also both groups have maybe more than average diffuse personal

boundaries. You let things come through. I might be something that modern

Western astrologers call " Neptune " . So, these 'neptunian' people with

diffuse boundaries don't have a lot of their planets in the 11th house.

In general I've found in my studies that the Indian concept of good and bad

houses works quite well, and it tells more about spirituality than about

material success. The 1st, 10th, 5th and 9th houses are fortunate because

they produce spiritual attitude and interest. The 10th house is especially

interesting in this sense because even more than your material profession,

it would seem to be connected with your goals and aims in the spiritual/soul

sense - with your life task. That may or may not be connected with your

profession.

Of course one has to take the whole chart into consideration, but I've

observed that when people have the Sun in the 11th they're fortunate as far

as doors opening for them or being taken care of through other peoples'

efforts. So, maybe the key there is that their fate is secure and they

don't have to work real hard to survive, therefor they're freed up to do

creative things or just what appeals to them rather than slog along doing

drudgery-like tasks or have to concentrate on being super ambitious. That

would explain why some would express themselves through the arts, writing,

etc.
