I didn't get the food there he would have liked proper and so he was starving on his visits. Okay, that was his own comment. But the San Francisco Bay Area has hundreds of ethnic restaurants, many of them Indian. Many natives themselves don't eat American food. They prefer the ethnic varieties. I always preferred ethnic foods when living there. What is American food?? At least in the big cities it's now a grand mixture of all cultures except for hamburgers and french fries and the fast food places. Small towns, however--still plain boring American menus.
