Guest guest
Hi Francois, Therese and others, I too have Shubhakaran's books of nakshatras, but I'm not sure if they've increased my understanding of them much. The first book has some interesting interpretations that differ from the usual Western ones and that are quite fitting. But overall every nakshatra seems to contain so diverse features that it's difficult to find the basic idea of each. So far the best nakshatra descriptions I know were online on Joni Patry's site - I checked the site out and it seems to have disappeared! It used to be at http://www.galacticcenter.org . What a pity. The second excellent source about nakshatras is Svoboda's and DeFouw's Light on Life. I've heard praise of Prash Trivedi's 27 Celestial Portals and I'm going to buy it some day. Nakshatras are very interesting, sometimes they are even more interesting than signs. Tropicalists could use them too, like fixed stars, taking precession into consideration. Someone should write a " Linda Goodman's Sun Signs " about nakshatras, then people would start to use them much more than now. Best, Sari
Guest guest
Thanks for your comments, Sari. Another good book on the mansions is Kenneth Johnson's " Mansions of the Moon. " But no book is perfect, and astrologers should be testing the interpretation of the mansions in all their horoscopes. Guest guest
Dear friends, No book can be perfect. Cause perfectness cannot be encompassed in a few hundred pages of literature. Neither can the Writer of most of the books be considered perfect. Only God is perfect. It would be fallacy to search for perfection in Mortals. Perception perhaps is a different matter coupled with intution, which must be developed on a individual level. The 27 Divisions of nakshatras or the Constellations can be used very effectively to produce the best astrology in application. 1) Use Placidus Cusp 2) Deduct Lahiris Ayanamsha. 3) Now check the Planets fall in which Nakshatra ? 4) Who are the Lords of the Nakshatras where these planets falls ? 5) Note down the Cusps represented by these Lords, and also where they are placed . 6) These houses represented would be the effects the planets would give when they get power as MahaDasha (Main period) and antardasha sub (period) running ? Okay ? Any doubts ,please question me. I would love sharing what I possess. regards, Bhaskar. , Therese Hamilton <eastwest wrote: > > Thanks for your comments, Sari. Guest guest
All books are good. Unfortunately none of these books or their authors teach how to apply what they have written,in predictive astrology. So they remain good at theoretical level. regards, Bhaskar. , " Sari M " <gerdapp wrote: > > Hi Francois, Therese and others, > > I too have Shubhakaran's books of nakshatras, but I'm not sure if they've > increased my understanding of them much. Guest guest
Hello Bhaskar, On Friday, January 11, 2008 12:11 PM, Bhaskar <bhaskar_jyotish wrote: > The 27 Divisions of nakshatras or the Constellations can be used very > effectively to produce the best astrology in application. > > 1) Use Placidus Cusp > 2) Deduct Lahiris Ayanamsha. > 3) Now check the Planets fall in which nakshatra ? > 4) Who are the Lords of the Nakshatras where these planets falls ? > 5) Note down the Cusps represented by these Lords, and also where they are > placed . > 6) These houses represented would be the effects he planets would give > when they get ower as MahaDasha (Main period) and antardasha ub (period) > running ? I am very glad to meet you here! I have read about a similar technique a few years ago. A Belgium jyotishi, Jean Dethier, who went in India for the first time in 1974, wrote a book about it. In Madras, he met K. Neelakantan who thought him this technique. However, there was a subtility about empty houses. So, houses represented by Starlords were understood this way: - A planet represents the house where its starlord falls; - A planet represents the empty house ruled by its starlord; - A planet which has all its nakshatras empty represents the house it is located in and the empty house it rules. Are we talking about the same technique? Or is it different? Now, something I don't understand clearly, about the effects. Suppose that the Moon falls in 17:38 Leo (in the 8th house, placidean cusps). Its Starlord is Venus. If, for instance, Vénus falls in the 1st house, the effects of the Moon will be in the first house. Suppose I read any cookbook, should I read the effect of Moon in the first house or those of Venus in first house? In other words, given the rulerships of the starlord on a planet, the effect in a house, is that of the planet represented by the Starlord or that of the Starlord? Or both? Many thanks! -- Best regards, François
Guest guest
Dear Francois, As per Your Example- Moon falls in 17.38 Leo. and 8th Cusp. Which may mean that the ascendant is Capricorn. Now assuming StarLord of Moon is Venus and Venus is placed in the 1st House. What effects would Moon give, when the native falls under the influence of the Main period of Moon which remains for 10 Years ? This is easy to put in one Line- Moon, 8, 7 Venus 1, 5,10 These figures now show the exact effect which Moon would give to the native. Here 8 and 7 for Moon means, Moon placed in 8th House and Lord of 7th House. Venus placed in 1st House and Lord of 5th and 10th house. Translated into predictions -( If Query is connected to Business.) Answer - The Native would suffer from Loss of any existing Partnership, and begin a new Business related to Finance through self efforts . The Moon Shows the source and Venus shows the results through this source. The 7th house means partnership, and the 8th shows trouble brewing. The 1st house shows sel Efforts, the 5th shows Speculations or Finance, and the 10th shows, Enterprise. That sums up the Effect of Moon. The technique you mentioned seems to be the same which I have mentioned above. It works very well. Same Example above but different Query - If someone is asking when he would meet his Love. The above figures would show problem in Marriage at source side of Moon and at results side would show that he would be meeting his Love during this period, which is represented again by the 5th house. Conclusion - Planet would show the Source, and the StarLord of this planet would show the Results that this Planet would bring in. Please feel free to ask . I will answer whatever I know. If I am able to contribute here, I would consider myself fortunate enough. regards, Bhaskar. , " CARRIERE Francois " <fc21063 wrote: > > Hello Bhaskar, > > On Friday, January 11, 2008 12:11 PM, Bhaskar <bhaskar_jyotish > wrote: > > > The 27 Divisions of nakshatras or the Constellations can be used very > > effectively to produce the best astrology in application. > > > > 1) Use Placidus Cusp > > 2) Deduct Lahiris Ayanamsha. > > 3) Now check the Planets fall in which nakshatra ? > > 4) Who are the Lords of the Nakshatras where these planets falls ? > > 5) Note down the Cusps represented by these Lords, and also where they are > > placed . > > 6) These houses represented would be the effects he planets would give > > when they get ower as MahaDasha (Main period) and antardasha ub (period) > > running ? > > I am very glad to meet you here! > > I have read about a similar technique a few years ago.
