Guest guest
Hi, Persian rug makers always had the blind stitch for destroying the eyesight. In online astrology this is equally accomplished by Eshelman's site. Have you any ideas for increasing font size there? For even the " increase font size " button doesn't work there. What to do? Guest guest
Hi Dark*Star, I've copied the threads, transferred them to Word and adjusted the font size there, then I've printed the articles out. It makes reading more comfortable. D*S, I have the same problem. If I want to really read something in that tiny font [which is also on many other sites] on my notebook computer, I have to copy it to my mail program, which puts everything in standard size plain text. I think a while ago you asked a question that I did't answer. You asked me to elaboarate on the mixing of Jyotish with western astrology. Adopting elements and sign meanings are two ways this mixing is happening. These are showing up vertabim in newer Jyotish texts. Guest guest
Can't you just hit Ctrl and the " = " key? That usually makes typeface bigger. Crtl and the " - " key makes it smaller. I believe this works for all browsers although I am a Firefox user. But when I click on one of Jim's topics, the font is a little larger than the main page. Therese
Guest guest
Therese, It really should work as long if you have a Ctrl key. Hold it down and as you hit the " = " key. You can keep on doing this and the type will get bigger and bigger. The small font on that page doesn't even change when I manually change the font to 'largest' from the view menu. Did I mention I'm running Windows 98?? this is an *old* computer! But it's quite adequate for what I use it for since I'm not into downloading music or viewing videos. Also no virus people target such an ancient operating system, so I've never bothered with virus protection software. Anyhow, I expect that my server blocks the virus attacks. Thanks for trying to help. Therese
Guest guest
OK, Therese. I have also am running Win98 on this machine. The problem is the browser I just tested Explorer and it doesn't work with it. What you need to do (and Dark Star too) is to download Mozilla Firefox. It's not that big (about 6 MB) and shouldn't take too long. It will work even with older smaller machines(like mine!) http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/ You will be able to adjust the font size in the way that I've mentioned. Let me know how it goes. I was thinking about this last night and came to the conclusion that the Ctrl= must work only in Firefox. I do need Explorer for at least one program I use, but if I can switch back and forth, then I could also use Mozilla. I remember on the FoA forum that some headings weren't visible on a site with Firefox. I think it was Ernst Wilhelm's site. My Edgar Cayce CD needs Explorer. Thanks, Therese

It's otherwise an improvement over IE -- blocks pop-ups automatically, and gives the user clear options about how to view them. Just seems more user-friendly than IE, but I'm probably biased against anything to do with Microsoft. I'm going to hook up another computer later this month, and will install Mozilla on it. Still an older laptop, but not as old as this one.
