Guest guest
As Don noted earlier, you'll have to just bite the bullet and learn a bit about basic astronomy and the basics of setting up a chart manually. As to what calendar dates are associated with the start of a " sign " or when spring starts or when the Sun enters a sign . . . SEVERAL FACTORS contribute to dates often changing relative to when a specific sign comes into play due to spring starting or the Sun moving into that sign. DATES AND SIGNS ARE NOT FIXED, they vary from year to year due to . . . 1) The length of our year is fractionally longer than an even 365 days, which is why we have Leap Year every four years. The calendar date is off by 1/4 of a day each year from the date/time that the Earth last passed a particular point in its orbital path about the Sun. So at the end of four years, we have had 365 + 365 + 365 + 366 days to achieve four complete orbits of the Sun (more or less). 2) The dates of sign-changes (of the Sun or of the seasons) also depends upon which states or counties in the US utilize Standard or Daylight Savings Time and when they switch from one to the other. A time shift can result in a date being right or being a day off. 3) Less common, but possible, it depends upon where your calendar was printed. Some astrological calendars are printed specific to East Coast time or Pacific Coast time in terms of when transits and aspects or sign changes occur. If your calendar was imported from Europe where GMT is often used, or from China or Autstralia, then its quite possible that the dates will vary from other calendars due to the time zones in effect at that other place. Having a basic knowledge of astronomy, astrology, time zones and a few other related subjects makes this all clearer and elementary. If you don't take the plunge and learn the basics, then questions such as this will continually trip you up. Good luck. If you do start on this path you'll find plenty of help. I ask this for a reason as I can't imagine a need for an old astrological calendar. So, again, I ask, " What do you hope to do with an old astrological calendar? " There are many other ways to obtain astrological data for any date in the past or the future, having a calendar for a whole year seems redundant and perhaps useless. Through the use of other resources, you can: ** Find the planet positions for any date, past, present, future. ** Cast a chart to find the angles, houses, signs and planets in the combinations that represent you or another person. ** Determine the date and time of day when an equinox or solstice point occurs for a given location. ** Find when and where a new planetary cycle will occur, or where and when a given aspect between two planets will occur. ** Track the eclipse path of a lunar eclipse. But, it is highly unlikely that you will find a store with an old astrological calendar for a given year. And, astrologers don't really use astrological calendars except to hang on the wall to remind them of current transit cycles and eclipses and stuff of a general interest. They certainly aren't useful for casting charts. Dave Dave
