Fagan-Bradley Sidereal Example -- Paris Hilton part ONE

Hello, my brand of Sidereal practice follows that of Cyril Fagan with

some additional developments of my own. While there are many on this

list who understand or use that general system, there are also many

who do not understand it or use it at all. I will present three

charts, one in each separate posting -- ONE, TWO and THREE. The

explanations will be brief but can be expanded in any replies that are

asked for or in any discussions that follow. I look forward to

examples posted by those who practice other forms of " Sidereal " astrology.

 

** In the Celebrity Folder under " Files " there is a chart for Paris

Hilton's 2007 Solar Return. This post will utilize that chart. Paris

Hilton has been in the news due to her driving problems and her choice

to continue driving while under legal constraints not to do so. She

was caught driving in February when she wasn't supposed to be on the

road, was sentenced May 4th, went to jail on June 4th, was released on

June 7th and returned to jail on June 8th. These short scenarios are

perfect for exploring Solar Returns, Lunar Returns and progressed

angles charts.

 

** The charts provided are cast in the Tropical Zodiac but are

precession corrected. Although this would terribly upset Cyril Fagan

it does make it easier for the vast majority of Tropical zodiac users

to explore " Sidereal " stuff without fear of having to learn and use

all kinds of complex math and proceedures.

 

** The initial reading of these charts is focused on angular planets.

Those angular planets and the natal planets participating in patterns

with those angular planets are the primary focus of interpretation.

 

** The 2007 Solar Return chart has an MC of 20 Capricorn and an

Ascendant of 6 Taurus. You will note a dotted line labeled " CD " --

this is not really another chart angle but a point. This point is an

equal are of the Asc-to-MC arc distance which is extended westward in

the chart from the MC. The " CD " stands for Co-Descendant and this

point has been found to represent a vulnerable place in the chart

where present planets symbolize the actions of those who intrude into

our lives. The examples will explain this more.

 

PARIS HILTON'S 2007 SOLAR RETURN

 

Mars transits near the MC angle and signifies physical efforts, anger

and willful actions, being upset over general conditions in one's

life, even strongly creative efforts.

 

Natal Jupiter and Saturn (in conjunction) are located near the CD

point. If we refer to Ebertin's Combination of Stellar Influences

(known as CSI) for Jupiter-Saturn=Asc we get a very literal

interpretation, " An inconstant or an insecure attitude with regard to

other persons. A change of residence, a change of occupation, a

separation. " Although this absolutely reflects Paris Hilton's current

situation, we might also expect that these two planets being in her

2nd house with Libra on the cusp might suggest problems with managing

personal business, image, social opportunities for self-advantage and

self-pride. These two, located at the " CD " suggests that she will be

vulnerable to outside forces due to this attitude towards life.

 

Our initial assessment will be built upon these two factors. We might

say that Paris seems oriented towards fulfilling her own desires and

acting strongly to serve herself. An underlying arrogance can be seen

in her actions and manner by others who can resent her situation in life.

 

At this point, before we can summarize this Solar Return's theme for

the coming year, we need to look at the natal chart to see how its

promise is likely to be expressed in this annual chart.

 

** Sun-Moon; the Moon is in the Analyst Phase (Rudhyar's Lunation

Cycle) which suggests one who adopts methods to fit one's needs. In

other words, one who takes short-cuts to achieve what one wants and

only later finds that adjustments and refinements need to be made in

how one approaches and works with others. Both bodies are near the

Asc-Dsc axis pointing to personal involvement and expression of her

life, a visible life.

 

** Uranus is at the IC, square the Sun points to a restless person who

is seeking to define themself and who is not shy about making a grand

entrance under any conditions.

 

** Sun and Mercury is conjunct, and both widely sextile Neptune. Paris

is who she appears to be, looks and position (on a moment by moment

basis) are her focus. She truly is a socialite as we tend to think of

that term. Neptune adds the drama and allure that she craves.

 

** The afore-mentioned Jupiter-Saturn conjunction lends a form of

practicality and a " grab it and manage it " approach to life.

 

These brief remarks certainly paint a fairly complete initial

assessment of Paris Hilton. We might now see or feel that Paris' year

ahead will show her taking public risks, seeking to control and manage

her public image, acting as if she owned the world, being willful. As

astrologers, we might have warned her about adopting a softer and more

demure approach to life -- not that anyone would follow advice of that

sort.

 

In my next posts, I will explore her May 4th appearance before the

judge on her unlawful driving charge, and later, her June 4th jail

experience. Meanwhile, if there are any comments or questions I will

Dave, this is a sidereal forum, who why use tropical positions??

(Rhetorical question) It only confuses the issue for those who might want

to look at signs. And for return charts any ayanamsa will place angular

planets in exactly the same position.
